1. The audio on this show is ATROCIOUS. The hosts constantly move away from the mic, so you turn up the volume, then come back toward the mic to SCREAM-LAUGH. Extremely rude to listeners, but they don’t listen to their own show, which leads me to:
2. The vocal tics. Every other word is Yeah, Like, or Yes.
3. The subject matter is effing BORING. You’re a comedian, and you’re politically liberal? Wow, pull me up a chair ladies, this is totally uncharted territory!
4. The hosts discuss (what I assume are) friends of theirs and local comedy haunts like their audience has an existing and encyclopedic knowledge of both.
5. The blatant hypocrisy necessary to hold the strident RadLib beliefs they are constantly trying to one-up each other with. Want a handy prediction guide for how they’ll feel about any issue or news event? Inventory the identity politics: Count melanin and figure out genders, boom, no need to listen to The Leak.
6. Episodes are way too long, and repetitive.
7. The utter lack of conflict. I’ve listened for months, and the hosts have never once disagreed on anything. It’s a sermon to the choir, every week.
8. The lack of authentic laughs. I rarely laugh at anything they say. They laugh at each other constantly, but it’s that really breathy, abnormally loud laugh. They would call that “performative,” I’d call it fake.
