Fantastic Stuff

Martin Berkhan made a huge impact on my life back around 2011 or so when I first came across the leangains site. While I don’t follow that program to a T anymore (with years of experience, I now know that fasting 16/8 and RPT just aren’t what work best for me), I can confidently say that what I learned there served as the foundation for my evolution in diet and weight training. I bought his book when it came out last year and highly recommend it as a simple and incredibly effective method for losing body fat while maintaining or increasing strength. I was also extremely impressed that he is willing to make changes to his advice when the research supports doing so rather than sticking to his guns out of stubborness. As an example, the book makes clear that fasting is merely an additional tool that can be used but is, by no means, necessary in order to benefit from his program.

As for the podcast, it’s both highly entertaining and informative. The guys have great banter and it’s quite inspiring actually to hear how they too can struggle with some of the same things I have and even coped in the similar ways - like focusing on adding volume rather than just weight to the bar when your joints dictate that you should do so. Except deadlifts, of course. I, too, have experiences the regret that comes with high volume deadlifts.

Anyways, keep ‘em coming guys and let us know when you start selling “Make Fat-Shaming Great Again” hats.

Martin has been missed

In a world full of cookie cutter programs and soulless degenerates selling out via "Fit teas" and useless supplements on social media, hearing from the man who put intermittent fasting on the map is nothing short of refreshing. Glad to hear from him and to get an insight into his way of thinking about all things life and fitness.
