The Legacy of Martin Luther King Jr & What Activism Looks Like Today The Generation Distinct Podcast

    • Religion & Spirituality

This Monday, our nation celebrates and honors the legacy of legendary leader Martin Luther King Jr and his work that shaped history forever. Today, to honor his legacy and also discuss how we can continue to see his dreams of equality fully realized in this country, we have Activist, Singer, Songwriter, Poet & Rapper Sharon Irving.
Sharon grew up on the South Side of Chicago, living in the light and legacy of her own activist hero - her grandfather who marched alongside Martin Luther King Jr himself. As she grew up, she began to use her remarkable talent to speak out for justice and equality. You may recognize her from Season Ten of “America’s Got Talent”, where she received the coveted “Golden Buzzer” at her first televised audition, and was chosen by America to compete in the Semi-Finals.
