COVID-19 Shutdown - Will New York City Bounce Back?

In this episode Michael and Johnny talk about the ongoing impact the COVID-19 shutdowns are having on bars and restaurants in New York City.

Indoor dining remains closed and the bars and restaurants that have remained open are utilizing outdoor dining to try to turn profit.

However with the fall and winter months soon upon us and no blueprint coming from the mayor’s office to reopen for indoor dining -- we ask if this will be the death knell for the majority of bars and restaurants in New York City.

And with the “For lease” signs gone up on the Long Hall Pub & Grocery on East 34th Street, Johnny, the co-owner, gives us an update on the future of the bar.

Larry Tompkins - Part 1 - New York & Donegal Club

Larry Tompkins - Part 1 - New York & Donegal Club

In this 2 part podcast we interview former Cork football legend Larry Tompkins.
Larry was in New York earlier this year and sat down with us to discuss his illustrious playing career and in particular his years playing with Donegal club in New York.
Quite simply, there is no Larry Tompkins story without New York and the Donegal club.
Those years, as Larry recalls, were instrumental in improving his game, and set the stage for his return to Ireland
to tog out with Cork and Castlehaven.
Larry also chats to us about his humble upbringing in Kildare, his years playing with the Lilywhites at underage and at senior level and what led to his move to America
Larry’s autobiography, BELIEVE is being released in a few months and we hope to get Larry back on in the near future.
This was one of the first podcasts we recorded and unfortunately a technical glitch means the audio is poor in places.
The video to this podcast is up on our YouTube channel and Facebook page with subtitles which may be a better option for some people.

Well Done!

What a shame

Initially thought this would be a great podcast to listen to as a fellow immigrant in NYC. Had to stop listening due to the mindless pro Trump talking points repeated by one of the hosts. The final straw was when he seemed to suggest that African-American civil rights leaders should be held accountable for the actions of their entire race. Can’t figure out if the fella is racist or stupid or both.

Decent

Was interesting hearing the perspective of an Irish bar owner during COVID from the guy Johnny, seems like a decent guy with a lot of knowledge of New York. Don’t know what the story is with the other MAGA brainwashed guy, very surprised to hear a young Irish lad with such backwards views.
