    From time to time, we all start to wonder if little old "me" matters. We all think that everything that we've done in our life that used to be so defining...so meaningful...is losing its shimmer and shine. It may be true. Maybe your universe really is ending because someone who is just plain better than you has decided to move on out of your universe. Not to get too personal here, but we've all had that person that suddenly realized they could be a better hero than us, so they up and left. That's right. They left. They left without saying goodbye or shaking your hand or writing a note or mowing the yard or scrubbing the floor or fixing the chain they broke or polishing the bars of the cell or even returning the handcuffs they outright stole. Life can just be so cruel. But you DO matter. Your universe does matter. Everything that all those people poured into you wasn't just a waste of time or money or space in the basement where you keep your single issues that you can never really even see the cover or will never be graded by CGC and probably will never even read again. It does mean something, Fox. (Why'd you just call me 'Fox'?) Oh, um...I don't know. It just seemed right. I think I let my mind wander a bit. Anyway.     The Extinction Team

    I tell you, these guys are reusing ideas like crazy. Sure Krakoa was a great and refreshing era (if you like dying and coming back to life and the X-Men finally not caring what the world thinks about them and taking their rightful place among the gods, ruling with an iron fist and defeating the crazy machines that are simply made to protect humanity). But this 'up from the ashes' era-thingy? I mean could you get any more unoriginal? I mean we have Cyclops and Hope and Namor and Emma and Danger and Magik and the same people being on the most powerful team that is going to save the X-Men from extinction. AND they are bringing back the old writers and artists to do this again? Man, I tell you...just running out of ideas. San Francisco and Utopia and Sinister and that Celestial that we didn't know what it was doing for so long. No, I know what you are thinking--not THAT Celestial. I'm pretty sure they are ignoring that one for the rest of time. It just seems like they are retreading the same things over and over again. Doesn't it feel that way to you too? (Dude, this is a retro-review show.) What do you mean? You read and reviewed X-Men #1.) Well, of course they are going to re-number them. Their not stupid.     Now, I'm not hip with the kids and I don't know all of these spider-people or their timelines or their purpose or their gender identity or if they prefer Fruit Loops or Captain Crunch, but...BUT, I DO know that we are nowhere near the end of the Spider-verse craziness that Marvel loves to throw our way.     Kamala Khan and the Booty Flaps

    It's taken us a while to find the laptops, the microphones--I don't think we actually found those--find the duct tape and the glitter and the cosplay outfits with the black and the white and the booty flaps that SWORD has...but somehow, we did it! That's right. A brand-spankin'-new episode coming right at your earholes for the first time in over a year! You could even call it our annual show!!! But please don't call it that. It makes us sad in our hearts to think that it took over a year to make up from the fight we had last time while writing the episode synopsis.     Phased Out

    There comes a time in everyone's life where they have to reassess and figure out if it is really worth it to keep going or to hang it up. For Marvel, it was after Endgame. For The M6P, that time is now. Yes, we need to be circumspect and think about how different our lives are from when we started this podcast 13 years ago. We need to consider the time commitment and the effort that it takes to set aside the other parts of our lives to deliver a quality--(Well, I mean, the audio on this one is pretty terrible.) I mean quality as far as discussion and insight--(Are you kidding me? Are you really going to claim that the ramblings of a nearly 40 year old mad man living in the jungles of West Africa counts as intelligent insight and commentary on where the MCU stands right now?) Well, yeah, I mean...it's been a while, but we give the fans what they want. (And what is that?) At this point, it may just really be an episode. To hear us talk again after a yearlong hiatus. (So let me get this straight. You think that at this point you can just phone it in--literally--and the fans will all adore you because they are somehow clamoring for just anything at all that even slightly resembles what the show was like in its hay day?) I mean...I wouldn't say "clamoring." (You're a bum.) How dare you! I come in here every single time to write an episode synopsis and every single time you interrupt me and give me a hard time. You hired me for goodness sake! (That was my FIRST mistake!) Well, that's it! I'm leaving! I was about to say that the show was going to reevaluate and decide that it was NOT time to hang it up. I was going to do this big surprise that the hosts still love each other and love the fans and love Marvel and are going to do this until they just keel over and die. But no! You had to go and ruin it! Oh don't give me that look! It IS time to reevaluate. That's right! I swear on the grave of the last major character that died in that big crossover event that I will NEVER...WRITE for you...AGAIN!!! (Hmm...he just...he just left.
