    181. What Does Jesus Say to Stress?

    181. What Does Jesus Say to Stress?

Are you stressed? Hoping to leave 2020 in the rearview? You aren’t alone. The American Psychological Association reports that nearly 8 in 10 adults (78%) say the coronavirus pandemic is a significant source of stress in their life. And in that stress, 2020 has revealed just how tightly we cling to worry, to anger, and to control. But what does Jesus say? How do we as Christians respond to the stress of a year like 2020?
In this sermon, Mackey walks through Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount and proposes some trades. What might Jesus give to us if we were to let go of our worry, our anger, our control? Might it be the key we need to unlock newness of life in 2021.
    Key takeaways:
When I am tempted to WORRY, I Give God my ATTENTION. When I am tempted to give into ANGER, I Give God my BEST When I am tempted to lose control because I have no control, I give God my circumstances.

    176. No Phony in This Macaroni

    176. No Phony in This Macaroni

It is very easy to look the part without being the real deal. It's much harder to actually be the real deal. That's because being the real deal comes with a much higher cost, and not everyone is willing to pay up. But being the real deal for yourself and your family will also pay out much more over time than simply pretending to be a person of character. In this episode, Mackey explains why he wants to be the real deal for family and how he goes about it.
    Key Takeaways
-Don't just look the part, be the real deal for your family.
-Sometimes being the real deal comes with a high cost, so be willing to pay up.
-Hold each other accountable for being the real deal.

When Mackey Speaks I Listen (Then Act)

I’m the spirit of Two Words, it is the last two words of my review title that make the difference. Is Mackey inspiring? Heck yes. Many inspire, but few I have come across have his blend of wisdom, motivation, and strategy. In every episode Mackey challenges listeners to improve their lives, and in my experience it works. He’s good. Very good. Dive in.
