Perpetually Curious: A Conversation with Maryland State Underwater Archeologist Dr. Susan Langley, PhD
Shipwrecks, priates, and beekeepers are subjects seldom mentioned in the same breath. As we soon found out in our conversation with Dr. Langley, however, attempting to label her skills and areas of expertise is an expedition that leads to unexpected discoveries.
Dr. Langley is the Maryland State Underwater Archeologist and in that capacity explores local shipwrecks. Maryland, by the way, is one of only nine states to have this position. She's also a Master Scuba Diver Instructer, a Master Spinner, experienced in blacksmithing and wood turning and, yes, a beekeeper. She also knows a lot of cool stuff about pirates! And, as a native of Sarnia, Ontario, Dr. Langley is the first Canadian guest on Mainstreet.

A Boot Camp in Fallston: A Conversation with Jeff Biedronski
Is there a crisis in male leadership in our communities? If you believe that's the case, Fallston's Jeff Biedronski, our guest on this episode of Mainstreet, might have some good news. Jeff stops by Mainstreet to talk about F3, the nationwide boot camp that's invigorating male community leadership through fitness, fellowship, and faith. Jeff is the local leader and contact person for F3 in Fallston.
A long-time health care professional, Jeff also fills us in on his thoughts about our national health-care system. His thoughts may surprise you. What probably won't surprise you is that Jeff, like many of our guests, is a huge sports' fan who continues to make athletics a key part of his life.

Damn the Valley: A Conversation with Will Yeske
"DAMN THE VALLEY" was a phrase regulary uttered by the men that spent any amount of tme in the Arghandab River Valley during the deployment of 2 Fury to Afghanistan in 2009-2010."
The above blurb comes from a press release for a new book, "Damn the Valley," by first-time author Will Yeske, an 11-year combat veteran who participated in the mission that received little attention from the media and remains largely unacknowledged by the US Government. Already receiving advanced praise from, among others, General David Patraeus, "Damn the Valley" will be available on October 31st.
Connecticut-born, Will now lives in Bel Air with his wife, an Air Force veteran and native of Harford County. In search of a more stable life for this young famiy, Will decided to leave the military in 2018 and now runs No Limits Marketing Group (NLMG) and is finishing up a degree at Columbia University.
A self-professed "non-writer," Will's motivation for writing "Damn the Valley" was his desire to tell the authenic stories of the men with whom he served on a mission that suffered a 52% casualty rate.

Another Great Episode Covering the Spectrum
I just finished listening to Episode 18 and it was another informative and entertaining interview from Lee and Steve. I have listened to each episode and am sometimes surprised by the connections on a personal level. When Lee mentioned listening to jazz on The Harley Show on WBAL radio in Baltimore, I was surprised to learn that there were others from my generation and younger that listened to the program in the 60s and 70s. Then, when drummer Jamie Miller mentioned playing music with an old family friend and local musician, Rob Baier (Kanye Twitty, Rob Baier Band, Faded Image) back in school, I was surprised again. There's always something relatable, and sometimes on an unexpected level. Keep up the good work guys. I think you're improving as you continue creating new episodes. Finally, if Lee decides to borrow his sister's grandson to go to "The Spectrum", let me know. I'll see if I can make it. Sounds like fun! - Sir Charles the Great, Lord, Master, and Most Gracious Benefactor to the Serfs and Peasants of the Fiefdoms of Nottingham and Perry Hall, Navigator of Sub-atomic Realms, Resident Conspiracy Theorist, and Disrupter-at-Large. (Pop-Pop for short form.) "We all know that light travels faster than sound. That's why certain people appear bright until you hear them speak.” ― Albert Einstein (You guys don't qualify, but I love the quote.)
I learn something new in every episode
Lee and Steve are enthusiastic students and fans of our little piece of Maryland and it shines in every interview. Who cares about “famous people” when there are fascinating local people (past and present) to learn about?
Hometown Stories
After agreeing to being interviewed I took time to listen to all the mainstreet episodes. So nice hearing stories of different folks throughout the Harford County community. Also the ones of those that started out here before moving afar and how growing up in the area influenced their lives. Learning a lot! Feel like I’m sitting at a local coffee shop catching up with friends on what’s happening in town! Great work guys! Keep it up!
