To mark the arrival of Gavin’s film Geng Kubur on Netflix at the end of August 2024, we teamed up with the Geeks in Malaysia podcast for a special crossover episode! We weren't going to miss the chance to talk X-Men, the return of Hugh Jackman, how was Wolverine's hair and suit, whether Deadpool talked too much and of course share our thoughts on all references and cameos throughout the movie.     Y'now we did have a super timely and up to the minute movie review podcast recorded and ready to go but then... as you know life sometimes gets in the way.     Podcast 233: The Crow (1994)

    Giving up any pretense of keeping up with current releases, Gavin and Iain delve into 1994's The Crow on our latest podcast. Starring the late Brandon Lee and directed by Alex Proyas this is such a formative movie for us it's amazing we've not covered it before. Having not seen it in a few years, can it possibly stand up to today's modern movie standards? Is there room for the original to be improved upon by the upcoming remake starring Bill Skarsgård (spoilers: that's a big fat no!).     McYapAndFries tries something a little different this week as we revisit 1995’s Johnny Mnemonic in Black and White! After only hearing about this newish version of the cyberpunk "classic" recently,  Iain and Gavin had to get their hands on a copy to check it out. And it was cheap!. Directed by Robert Longo, written by cyberpunk legend William Gibson and starring McYapandFries favourite Keanu Reeves as Johnny himself, we really didn't know what to expect with this one but were pleasantly surprised! Also on the show Gavin and Iain chat about Willow leaving Disney+, the latest shenanigans in Hollywood and we experience a little confusion over what actually happened at the end of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood before diving deep into the Keanu Reeves “Classic”. Apologies in advance for some clicking issues with the audio. Despite being a well respected VO director someone still finds new ways to make editing the podcast a nightmare.
