WELCOME TO A MERMAIDS UNITE EPISODE

Eva Chan and Jane Lee have founded an early stage venture lab called Launch Pop and they're co-founders to keep an eye on. Based in Los Angeles, they are dedicated to creating a new generation of businesses for ambitious entrepreneurs. They launch brands that "change the way we live". Their team ethos is defined by being ethicially driven, produced collaboratively, passionate, futurist, creative, fun and dynamic.

In this episode, Mel explores the unique relationship between Eva & Jane and the company they have built from scratch that is doing the same for others. Some of the brands they've build include Gem, Morning Recovery, and Rael.  These ladies encourage problem solving brands and these examples are just a few. Eva & Jane have the previous work experience, research skills, product and community building abilities, and outline for creating venture decks while connecting to investors that truly makes for the dream team. Now if only they could find clones!

Eva says "There is no shortage of opportunities in this world - for anyone. There's actually more distraction. We've come to an era where because of that, commitment is very hard." Eva says to commit. To something. But whatever you do, just commit. Tune in for a ton more gems of advice from these two. Pun intended. ;)

The Naiad of Fashion Consciousness & Consulting; Gabriella Smith

WELCOME TO A SYNC [SAVE YOUR NAME CONFERENCE] EPISODE

Meet the wonderful and tres chic Gabriella Smith. She is an inspiring fashion industry professional on the challenging road of teaching and creating ethical closets. She is the founder of The Upcycle Project, a nonprofit organization and agency that focuses on fashion sustainability education and consulting. They dare to educate, inspire, disrupt, and change all of our lives. Their current project has created masks out of recycled materials and are available for sale on their website at www.upstylefoundation.com. Gabriella is also a TedX speaker, link below. She is also the Regional Director Elect for FGI South Florida, an international group leading global, non profit, professional organization in the fashion industry.

Mel and Gabriella discuss Gabriella's experiences that created a pathway down this challenging field. Her mission started several years before "sustainable" was a common workplace term for fashion. A term that is often overused while still being underutilized in the fashion industry. She is on a wild ride to making a difference. Her childhood, life lessons, and experience as a mother have opened her eyes to the importance of setting good examples, creating smart and mindful brands, leading students and professionals alike, and creating processes for people to participate in sustainable fashion. Her kind hearted laugh and intellectual perspectives and research are just two of the many reasons you will love this episode. Her notes about how to become a conscious consumer at the end, will be lasting and hopefully drive change in all listener's lives.

Favorite source for powerful women

Through the pandemic living alone I’ve been listening to this podcast over dinner when I don’t have visitors. It makes me feel like I’m in good company with inspirational and powerful women. I love the multifaceted nature and juxtapositions that exist in each guest and Mel Rose herself. Great reminder to tap into all the different aspects of ourselves... “the important stuff”.
