139. Rooted Part 2: Friendship- “Inconvenience is Often Worth It” with Alli Corley and Lisa Robertson A Force To Be Reckoned With

    • Self-Improvement

Lisa and Alli are back with me this week for Part 2 of our Rooted series, and I’m just so excited for this week’s episode because we are talking about such a fun but important topic - friendship! I thought that I knew what friendship was…which sounds so corny…but the impact of deep-rooted friendships in our lives has brought so much more meaning, and we are sharing all about that in today’s episode!
Coincidentally…or rather providentially…at the beginning of our friendship, the 3 of us all went on a social media fast at the same time, even though we all met with the help of social media. Because we were connecting so much in person and not constantly catching each other’s highlight reels, we quickly built a deep-rooted relationship. We stepped together to grow in community, and we did it all away from social media.
We were reminded that deep-rooted friendships come with accountability and that we need that in our lives. We can’t do it alone, nor were we ever meant to or equipped to. And while that may not sound too enticing to some of you if you’re not ready to grow that way, it was exactly what we needed in this season. We’ve gleaned from each other, learned what it looks like to spur each other on (Hebrews 10:24), and seen how iron does truly sharpen iron (Proverbs 27:17).
Look, I know how hard it can be to put ourselves out there, choose vulnerability over the safety of our family unit, and step out to seek deep-rooted, adult friendships…but I hope that you are encouraged through this episode to see that God created us for community and relationship and that it IS possible in our world today. Check out our IG this week for an easy to save and share “How-to” post on building deep-rooted friendships.
I hope you enjoy today’s episode!
