The Mind Renewed is hosted by Dr. Julian Charles (UK) and dedicated to understanding the world in which we live from a Christian worldview perspective. We are acutely conscious of propaganda in the mainstream media, and of the bewildering mass of information in the alternative media. We therefore seek to address matters of concern to people (whether they be 'people of faith' or none) in an unsensational and informed fashion, in the hope that truth will be uncovered and that bridges will be built between people through greater understanding. Therefore, whether it be the Surveillance State, the threat of Global Government, False-Flag Terrorism, the danger of New Religious Movements (NRMs), or any other issue too often ignored by the institutional church, The Mind Renewed analyses, interprets and critiques from a Christian worldview perspective.

TMR 263 : Jeremiah Allen : On Disruptions & Preparations

TMR 263 : Jeremiah Allen : On Disruptions & Preparations

What might it mean to "prep" and "fast" in a world of disruptions?
Over the last year and a half, so many lives have been disrupted, damaged or even ended by the SARS-CoV-2 "pandemic"—indeed, each of us has been affected to some to degree or other—and many vested interests seem intent on ensuring that the disruptions will continue into the forseeable future. So, how might the believer in God—and specifically the Christian—best react to this situation?
We are joined by Jeremiah Allen, a Christian entrepreneur now living in Belize, who testifies to the ways in which God has used disruptions in his life—military deployment in Iraq, the 2011 Japanese earthquake, and going down the proverbial "rabbit hole" in response to media lies—to bring him closer to Christ and develop within him a desire for Christian ministry. Drawing upon these experiences, Jeremiah encourages us to "live a life of fasting" (which might, or might not, involve fasting!) and "prep" in anticipation of life's disruptions—spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically—while always "leaning on" the One who made us.
"Jeremiah is a 41-year-old former US Army soldier and Iraqi war veteran ('04-'05). After leaving military service, he worked as a Computer Network Security Expert for the US Missile Defense Agency. In 2013, he left his lucrative career and relocated his wife & two children to pursue ministry in Belize as an entrepreneur. Jeremiah is passionate about Jesus and sharing the Good News with others by living out the Great Commission in everyday life."

TMR 262 : Dr Pierre Kory On Early COVID Treatment, Big Science & Disinfo

TMR 262 : Dr Pierre Kory On Early COVID Treatment, Big Science & Disinfo

"Look at where the money's coming from. Now the money has strings attached. People give the WHO money, but they say: 'We want you to do this, or study that, and we want you to use our consultants and our experts and our scientists.' Many of them come from Pharma. Pharma has pretty much completely infiltrated this organisation."—Dr Pierre Kory
With the kind permission of the FLCCC Alliance, TMR presents an important and impassioned lecture by Pierre Kory, MD, MPA, who heads up the FLCCC Alliance.
Complementing our December interview with Professor Paul Marik, which explored the role of the effective, well-tolerated and inexpensive drug ivermectin in the fight against COVID-19, in this lecture Dr Kory goes further to deliver a broader message: a message about the ways in which the medical-industrial complex—involving entities such as the so-called World Health Organisation, BigPharma, and national health agencies, medical journals and mainstream media (particularly in the West)—seem to be acting systematically to suppress ivermectin as a treatment for, or prophylaxis against, COVID-19, because it threatens to stand in the way of massive corporate profits.

We are joined by Dr M R. X. Dentith—Associate Professor in the International Center for Philosophy at Beijing Normal University—for the second instalment of a two-part interview on the subject of Conspiracy Theory Theory.
In this second part we continue to focus upon the important 2018 book edited by Dr Dentith—"Taking Conspiracy Theories Seriously"—and move on to discuss the second section of the volume entitled "Diagnosing Conspiracy Theory Theorists", in which Dr Dentith and their colleagues take on arguments by fellow academics who seek to "pathologise" conspiracy theorists.

TMR 260 : Dr M R. X. Dentith : Taking Conspiracy Theories Seriously - (Part One : Particularism Vs Generalism)

Many people say it's irrational to believe in conspiracy theories. But is that really true?
We are joined by Dr M R. X. Dentith—Associate Professor in the International Center for Philosophy at Beijing Normal University—for the first instalment of a two-part interview on the subject of Conspiracy Theory Theory. Focusing upon the essential (and approachable) book edited by Dr Dentith entitled "Taking Conspiracy Theories Seriously" (Rowman and Littlefield, 2018), in this first instalment we lay the groundwork for the conversation and then go on to discuss the first section of the volume entitled, "The Particularist Turn in the Philosophy of Conspiracy Theories".

TMR 259 : Dr Malcalm B Splead : The Snowosphere

TMR 259 : Dr Malcalm B Splead : The Snowosphere

For this exclusive interview with TMR, we are joined by Dr Malcam B Splead—Head of Snow Studies in the University of Devizes, UK, for an in-depth conversation on the intriguing subject of The Snowosphere, a hitherto much neglected topic in the field of Snow Studies, but one that is quietly gaining attention in the halls of scientific academia.
Under the right conditions, snow simply "falls" to the ground. Or does it? But what if this so-called "falling" should turn out to be merely a feature of human perception? What if, contrary to all expectations, this oh-so-familiar phenomenon should best be explained by counterintuitive interactions between the Earth itself and this strange, neglected entity - The Snowosphere?
    As Dr Iain Livermore explains:
"Should a scientific consensus on the matter be finally reached, Snowosphere Theory not only promises to revolutionise the discipline of snowology, it may even come to challenge our ideas about gravity, mass and the role of mathematics in the description of empirical observations." (Iain Livermore, ed., "An Introduction to Snow Studies", OUP (2009))

TMR 258 : Groundhog Day (Movie Roundtable)

TMR 258 : Groundhog Day (Movie Roundtable)

In this special "swapcast" between TMR and Film Gold we are joined by our good friends Antony Rotunno (host of the new Film Gold podcast) and Jenifer Thyssen (classical singer) for the 8th in our Movie Roundtable series. This time our subject is the wonderful 1993 "fantasy romcom" (or is it "fantasy comrom"?) Groundhog Day, starring Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell, directed by Harold Ramis.
While on location filming the annual celebration of Groundhog Day in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, cynical and jaded TV weather presenter Phil Connors (Bill Murray) finds himself inexplicably caught up in a mysterious time loop that forces him to re-live the same day—Grounhog Day (which he loaths)—over and over again for a seeming eternity. The inexorable repetition (which he alone experiences) thrusts him into a succession of psychological states—confusion, denial, nihilistic anger, extreme selfishishness, and finally acceptance—as he is forced to interact with the events and people of that seemingly endless February 2nd. Yet only at the point when he himself has changed inside, such that he gains the true affection of TV producer Rita Hanson (Andie MacDowell), does the time loop cease and his life begin again in a new way.
Join us as we discuss the production, and reflect theologically/psychologically on the film's messages and implications.

Refreshingly non-sensational and reliably intellectually honest! TMR sets the bar high!

TMR provides some of the most trustworthy and highest quality content available among alternative media venues. What I love about Julian is that, though he is unafraid to tackle challenging and highly controversial topics, he is also keenly aware of the need for a healthy dose of epistemic humility when approaching them. Always alert to potential confirmation bias, be it his own, or his guests, he clearly takes great pains to compensate for such bias by playing devil’s advocate and bringing the best arguments from opposing views to bear on the conversation. Julian understands the proper application of logic, reason, and evidence in support of a conclusion and he is always careful not to overstate what can be reasonably deduced from the available evidence. He is also an expert interviewer who obviously does his homework in preparation for interviewing the imminently qualified guests he invites on his show. His thoughtful, well-informed questions bring the key issues sharply into focus. Not only does Julian facilitate a fair-minded, intellectually stimulating, thoughtful analysis of the issue at hand in each show, but he also puts in a great deal of work to provide extensive resources in the show notes to make it easy for interested listeners to dive even deeper and learn more about the topic for themselves. TMR is truly in a league of its own! Hats off to you Julian! In a world drowning in hype and sensationalism, your commitment to intellectual integrity is truly refreshing and inspiring. Keep up the fantastic work!
