Ryan Harris is retired NFL offensive lineman, talk show host, author, and motivational speaker. Today is the final episode of the Habit hacking series here on the MindMill. Early in 2019, the MindMill teamed up with an event to promote the understanding, impact, dissection, and mastering of our personal habits. The summit, Habit Hackers, was a massive success; bringing hundreds together to learn from top performers, entrepreneurs, Super Bowl champions, and elite coaches. The day-long summit was packed with presentations and workshops to aide in mastering routines that shape our lives. I had the pleasure of interviewing the creator, David Blutenthal on the podcast to discuss his inspiration for habit hackers. We also dove into our own trials and tribulations surrounding our personal habits. Great episode, be sure to go back and give it a listen or refresher. David is expanding Habit Hackers this year with a series of mini-workshops before the next big summit in early 2020. These workshops will give people hands-on opportunities to tackle their habits in different areas of life with accountability and social support. Whether you desire to transform your personal finance habits, create a more effective communication, or build new structures for your health and fitness, you’ll find something to take on with these workshops. You can find more information about all things Habit Hackers at https://habithackers.co.

Ryan Harris on The MindMill Podcast

This episode absolutely flew by, and I'm so excited to share it with you. Today we are with Super Bowl Champion, talk show host, author, and motivational speaker Ryan harris. Ryan is a retired NFL offensive lineman who protected Peyton Manning during the Denver Broncos most recent championship season. After retiring from professional football, Ryan shifted his focus to public speaking and sharing the lessons he learned from decades of elite athletics.

Ryan completely embodies his positivity and excitement for life. From the beginning of our interview, we couldn’t help but laugh and joke around. I don’t get too many chances to talk about football on the show, so I took the opportunity to hear from an absolute expert. After some obligatory college football trash talk, Ryan opened up about how his attitude and dedication to incremental improvements led to his longevity as a top competitor. We then move the conversation to his routines for success post NFL. Ryan has learned so much as a family man and businessman. He opens up about the daily habits that keep him at his best; as a father, a husband, and as a public speaker.

Ryan Harris on The MindMill Podcast

I gotta put it out there. I was only one of the multiple interviews Ryan gave this day. He got his names mixed up, and called me “Terry” towards the end of our conversation. haha while slightly embarrassing for both of us, the quality of our interview more than made up for it. I mentioned it after we wrapped up, and got him back on the air to smooth it out.

Eben’s Newest Book - Opportunity: How to Win in Business and Create a Life You Love

    Hello! I’m Eben Pagan.

I got my start in business over 10 years ago after my best friend showed me how successful he was selling information products online.  I can still remember locking myself in my bedroom for three straight weeks to write my first ebook.  When I finally finished writing the book, I put it online and went to bed.I woke up the next morning and couldn’t believe what I saw…

I had my first sale. It was only one sale, but more sales came in over the next few days and that’s when I knew I was on to something…I kept growing my company and after a few years, my little ebook quickly turned into a multi-million dollar a year virtual business employing 75 people around the world. That’s when I started getting emails from people asking me for business and marketing advice to teach them how to be successful starting and launching their own businesses using my techniques and formulas.  I’ve been very fortunate to work with some amazing people like Tony Robbins and Sir Richard Branson.  I’ve devoted several years of my life to create trainings that teach entrepreneurs all my best strategies and tech...

#40: Julie Penner | People over Product, Process, and Profit

Julie Penner on the MindMill Podcast

Julie Penner is the former director of the famed Techstars business accelerator program.  She has worked with hundreds of diverse companies; challenging, empowering, and propelling them into new arenas of success.  Julie now works as COO of Halp.

This episode is with Julie Penner (@soulofstartups), former director of the famed Techstars business accelerator program in Boulder Colorado.  She has worked with hundreds of diverse companies; challenging, empowering, exposing, and propelling them into new arenas of success.  Despite the endless metrics and data-points of analysis, Julie maintains that its always human development that governs the success of a company.  The Techstars accelerator has expanded to over a hundred global programs, but started in Boulder.  There are few people who have the collective knowledge and experience Julie possesses.  Julie now works as COO of Halp.

Julie is one of those people who I immediately felt connected to.  She has incredibly demanding schedules and responsibilities, yet I have never had an interaction with her where she has come off rushed, uninterested, or not present.  This interview was much different than i expected.  I had prepared a series of analytical questions surrounding startups, founders, and processes.  While we touch on these topics,  the resounding theme of our conversation is on intentional self-growth and genuine connection.  We discuss the emotional challenges that founders face, embracing humanity to propel teams, the power of self-reflection, and strength through vulnerability.  We also touch on intentional ways to celebrate holidays, the Burning Man festival , and the Danish lifestyle of Hygge.  Julie is a fantastic individual, i learn so much from her every time we speak.  Im proud to share this conversation with Julie Penner on the  MindMill podcast.
