    I don't know about you, but I plan on wearing some offensively short shorts this summer. So I'm doubling down on the leg training and I hope you'll join me by starting with this Minisode. Most people think of muscular legs as having big quads. Quads are important, but to properly fill out those shorts, pants, and swimsuits, you'll want to pay extra attention to your glutes, hamstrings, and calves (I'm mostly talking to the guys here, women usually have no problem hitting glutes often).     This was, obviously, a fun one for me. In this episode, I had on my 21-year-old sister, Sarah. At the time of recording this, she was staying with me in my apartment in NYC for her fashion internship, which we briefly touch on in the beginning. The rest of the conversation might really surprise you, as we touched on some topics that I've never talked about before. Things like the story of our house burning down, figuring out what you DON'T want to do, making riskier life choices, starting your own business or side hustle, the common struggles of your twenties (and beyond), putting yourself out there on social media, family bonding moments, and more.

    I tried to actually make this an entertaining and thought-provoking chat, instead of just random ramblings with my little sister (although, there's plenty of sh*t-talking).     To give context, the all-or-nothing mentality is when you strive for perfectionism or nothing. In regards to nutrition, you're either "on" your diet or "off" your diet. No in-between. But, of course, your actions can be a bit more nuanced than that. In fact, this line of thinking has been shown in the research to be less effective than a more flexible approach. So in this Minisode, I give my best advice that I've given to my clients and many others to successfully combat this line of thinking, and what to do instead. Hope it helps.

Excellent podcast! - the title says it all - “More than Fitness”. Hits a ton of topics to include fitness and surrounding areas of life - mental health, self improvement. All things that will impact your fitness goals and are very important to discuss.

Matt is honest and true and treats his podcast like it is a conversation over a production. I almost always have a heart reaction when he is talking through the perspectives of people who inspire him and connects these to fitness but also to so many other situations. I’ve been on a binge for a couple days listening to episodes and plan to continue until I’m all caught up!
