Flight of the Navigator - Good Episode

Great episode on Flight of the Navigator. You’re right, that movie definitely has “E.T.” and “Never Ending Story” vibes for sure. I realized you captured in those statements what I always felt.

“You… are the Navigator!”

80s movies through 2022 eyes

Nearly all of the criticism of the movies boils down to “this is offense today”; basically they’ve fallen into the trap of looking at something from 30-40 years ago through the lens of today (side-pondering: what will people 30 years from now think of the early 2020s?)

In addition, it feels like they “watch” the movie while starting at their phones; there’s a lot of “I missed that part” thrown about.

There are much much better 80s movies review podcasts out there; I’d recommend seeking them out and skipping over this one
