The MovieFilm Commentary Track: Superman II

The MovieFilm Commentary Track: Superman II

Forty years ago, we believed a man could fly...again. With this year marking the 40th anniversary of SUPERMAN II and this week marking the release of ZACK SNYDER'S JUSTICE LEAGUE, the MovieFilm boys thought this was a perfect time to take a look back at the Man of Steel’s second big budget movie outing and the ways it foreshadowed what would happen with JUSTICE LEAGUE several decades later. Listen in as we watch the theatrical cut of SUPERMAN II while discussing the additions and subtractions from the Richard Donner cut, all while soaking in Chris Reeve’s second go at the cape-and-tights, and just generally soaking in the nostalgia of an era where a major metropolitan city getting utterly demolished was just good, clean fun. Welcome to MovieFilm

Best pals talking about movies? ✅
Catchy theme song? ✅
Spot on impressions? ✅

When the pandemic started and theaters closed down, one of my irrational fears was that Zaki and Brian would stop making new episodes. Fortunately this has not been the case and new episodes are still coming on the regular. This podcast is like Norm and Cliff from Cheers, meets Siskel and Ebert at the movies. With good reviews and analysis between two friends who’ve known each other for decades.

PS: Can we please get a Spaceballs commentary track?

My #1 Podcast

I am someone who really enjoys podcasts and this is by far the best. The relationship between Zaki and Brian is the glue that holds this podcast together and is my favorite thing about it. Hearing Zaki talking about his kids and his kid who sides with the villains is hilarious. Drunk Spielberg is a hilarious part of the show and I always look forward to hearing that pop up. With this virus going on, this podcast is really capable of keeping you going and making you laugh in this unfunny time. I love this podcast and Zaki and Brian as well. Keep up the good work gentlemen!

#1 Priority Podcast

There are a lot of reviews on here telling you that Zaki and Brian are knowledgeable, engaging, and funny, and rather than write a review that says that all over again, I wanted to put it a different way: I listen to 30 different podcasts each week during my long Bay Area commute, and this podcast skips to the head of the queue in front of any other.
