Shutdown? What Shutdown? McCarthy Survives Another Day As Speaker
Co-hosts Jared Yates Sexton and Nick Hauselman discuss how the government was able to avoid a shutdown while simultaneously dealing with bitter in-fighting between GOP representatives. They then discuss the legacy of the late Senator from California Diane Feinstein before expressing their disbelief that Brett Kavanaugh has become the moderate voice on the Supreme Court. And the pod would not be complete without calling out more tomfoolery from Mr. Elon Musk.

Needed Nuance
They really go beyond the headlines and add so much value and nuance that has helped me gain a more complete perspective on our current political system, how we get here, and what is at stake.
Interesting podcast!
I just listened to this podcast on YouTube & LOVED the interview w/ Nick Carmody, it was great & immediately went to my Apple podcast app and followed this one. I’m a huge podcast listener & consume a lot of news & am very familiar w/ quite a few of your guests, including Sarah Kendzior. I read her book “Hiding in Plain Sight” and had followed her since then….but omg, she has definitely gone off the deep end, many others that know of her work feel very similarly. She has been going down conspiracy-laden rabbit holes over the last year or two, so her interview I will DEFINITELY skip. It’s sad really….as she has a history of doing very credible work, IN THE PAST. I think she got banned from MSNBC too, for her outrageous claims. Nonetheless, this is an important podcast & you guys do GREAT work. Thank you.
I can’t get this time back!
Guys! Of course, someone will give you money to go past the free 5 minutes, but people of intelligence will not waste money or time listening to two men who have a tentative grasp on english grammar, exhale sweeteners such as “like” and “sort of” instead of pithy observations.
I’ve yet to hear on this casts anything that i can’t hear elsewhere and hear it more carefully considered and concisely.
I’ll be paying for a poke in the eye before i pay to hear these 2 teenager boys yakking.
