The Musical Geek – Episode 4 – With Pianist, Educator, and Software Developer Marc Sabatella
It was my great pleasure to speak last week with Marc Sabatella. He’s not only an accomplished Jazz pianist and educator, but he’s also a software developer, working on the development team for MuseScore, a piece of software I really love. It’s a free, open-source music notation program, and it’s incredibly powerful. Join us on this episode, where we talk music education and software development and tie the two together.
You can find lots more from Marc on the Mastering MuseScore website, where you can purchase his online course on using MuseScore. And if you want to download MuseScore, you can check it out at the website here. If you want to contribute to the project or just nerd out about the source code, head over to the GitHub repository. Marc also runs a YouTube channel, where he runs live streams focused on learning to use MuseScore, but also on music itself. Thanks again to Marc for joining me today…I hope you enjoy the episode, and that as always, you stay safe and healthy.
Yours in Cello,Cello Ben

For now…enjoy, and as always, stay safe and healthy! And as promised, here is the link to the iOS development course I mentioned.

The Musical Geek - Episode 1 - With Cellist Yeesun Kim
It was such a pleasure to get to speak with my former teacher, Yeesun Kim, for the inaugural episode of The Musical Geek. Professor Kim is the cellist of the Borromeo String Quartet, and a founding member, and is a member of the faculty of the New England Conservatory of Music. She and I discussed the inherent differences that come up when teaching online, and the Borromeo String Quartet’s use of technology to allow them to get deeper into chamber music onstage. Thank you so much to Professor Kim for joining me, and to all of you listening, please enjoy, and as always, stay safe and healthy, and take care.
