Most of us grew up with some knowledge of the Newbery and Caldecott Awards. (Who could miss the shiny metal stickers on the book covers!) But that doesn’t mean as children that we understood the meaning and background of these prestigious awards. If you’d like to know more now, to pass on to your students, join me and my guest, Kelly Howe—a Newbery/Caldecott collector and enthusiast—for an inside look at award winners and more. We’ll both share some of our favorites with the hope of stirring your love for quality children's literature. As a bonus, I’m offering a free PDF, “The Mystery of History Guide to Newbery Medal Winners.”

    Episode 22—What is Marxism?

    Episode 22—What is Marxism?

In the mid 1800’s, members of the Communist League gave Karl Marx the task of writing The Communist Manifesto. It was published in London in 1848. That was over 170 years ago! So why do we still hear about Marxism when we turn on the news today, and what does the topic have to do with Christian home education?  For a concise look at Marxism, and why it conflicts with a biblical worldview, join Linda Lacour Hobar, author of The Mystery of History, for "What is Marxism?" Amazing

If there were 10 stars I’d give Linda all 10. I heard her speak at a homeschool conference and fell in love with how she approached her history curriculum as I’ve been searching for this exact thing for so long.

Her voice is calming and her wisdom is amazing!!!
