    TNB Commentaries 050: Halloween(2018)

Please turn off your cellphones and join us in stalking horny teenagers wherever they may hump and a traumatized lady that that can't catch a break to save a single damn life, be it her own, her child's, or her granddaughter's!

For our 50th Commentary, we creep our way back to 2018 Haddenfield for this hybrid sequel & reboot starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, & Will Patton as they chase down the monstrous podcast and gas station killer we all know and fear.

Shockingly, Doom is in a pissy petty mood and that is thrown in your faces from the jump, but also we put on a hell of a ball breaking show as Fitz swings for the fences and connects with the grandest of slams, call backs are made, laughs are had, and we just bask in the glory that is this awesomely bad ass movie, so buckle up for a a fun and chunky ep, gang!

TNB Commentaries 049: Ash Vs. Evil Dead S1:E1-E2

TNB Commentaries 049: Ash Vs. Evil Dead S1:E1-E2

Please turn off your cellphones and lets all roll a doobie, chill out, relax, and read from this sweet ass book that was inked in blood and bound in human flesh that may or may not have been found 30 some odd years ago in a cabin in the woods...

For our 49th Commentary, we jump in the Oldsmobile Delta 88 classic and drive that sweet chunk of machinery back to Halloween 2015 for the return of the King, Bruce Campbell, to his most Iconic role, and he brings Ray Santiago, Dana DeLorenzo, Jill Marie Jones, and Lucy Lawless along for the ride!

Doom brings an update on something that he started yammering about last year in the Commentaries and will expand upon in Ep 104 of the main show, and then we all buckle up as the good sir Fitz gets to experience the gloriousness that is this series that was ended far too soon, so fire up your netted flix or whip out your discs cause shit is about to get...Groovy!

Episode 102: It Sounds Like A Strip Joint

Episode 102: It Sounds Like A Strip Joint

In this episode, we get unexpectedly personal and unveil what happens before the pitter patter of little feet go and suck up all of the free time one has to spend on all that fun and creatively fulfilling shit of youth as Fitz takes us on a journey into the deep dark depths of his pre-parental archives!

But before that, Doom kicks off what became our Whedon verse special by taking the time to say goodbye to a long running and much beloved (by him at least) show as Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. takes its final bow on ABC in a season that can only be described as insane amounts of fun, he gives a mostly spoiler free review and teases some of the best moments.

We teased it in ep 100, we kicked the can down the road a bit in ep 101, but we finally dust off an old hard drive and take a peek at the Buffy The Vampire Slayer RPG spin-off that the good sir Fitz started working on over a decade and a half ago, listen as he brings character backstory, town history, "episode descriptions", and there may just be more dark secrets uncovered as the rock & roll train known as The Nerd Blitz continues runnin' right off the tracks!

TNB Commentaries 048: Scooby-Doo Mystery Inc. Chapters 1-4

TNB Commentaries 048: Scooby-Doo Mystery Inc. Chapters 1-4

Please turn off your cellphones, gang, and climb into the Mystery Machine as we head out to crack some cases wide open, uncover a decades old plot, and celebrate the 51st anniversary of animation's greatest mystery solving quintet in a remarkably fresh new style!

For our 48th Commentary, we head back to the good ol days of 2010 for the first 4 episodes of this instant classic series starring the legendary Frank Welker, the character defining Mindy Cohn, the brilliant Grey DeLisle-Griffin, and the great Matthew Lillard (making his first turn in the place of an icon) as our titular gang, and they bring along franchise newcomers Gary Cole, & Patrick Warburton as their new supporting cast.

We memorialize an incredible creative force in Scooby-Doo co-creator Joe Ruby before Doom gets oddly deep and reflective, then walks Fitz through the opening 4 chapters of one of, if not, the most ballsy and risk taking shows in the entire Scooby library all the while forgetting how old they are yet again.

Expect filthy jokes aplenty, gang, because as you may have noticed, THE NERD BLITZ IS BACK, BABY!

    Episode 101: Concave Punchable Face

    Episode 101: Concave Punchable Face

In this episode, we are still coming down off of the high and exhaustion from Ep 100 and we talk all the dirty details of how it happened, how it almost didn't happen, last minute changes, and all of the other roadblocks what almost stopped a monumental milestone from appearing in your podcastaroonie feeds!

We start off talking about our recent reads of murder, dungeons, outside space wars, dragons, robuts, and the like as well as the big reactions to a review of a monstrous book what has us blowin' up, as well as explaining a recent installment of The Nerd Blitz Question Of The Week...before it even happened!

DC Fan Dome happened and Fitz has all the dirty details from his day in the virtual con hall watching trailer after trailer, while Doom brings...snark, s****y comments, and rude noises for most of the topics brought up on that front, all that and more as promises are broken and announcements are made in this return to form for your favorite unknown jack assholes.

Episode 100: Brian Quinn Presents TNB's 100th Ep Spectacular: Who Wants To Die Today?! - Part 2

Episode 100: Brian Quinn Presents TNB's 100th Ep Spectacular: Who Wants To Die Today?! - Part 2

In this 2 part episode, we are celebrating not one BUT TWO gigantic milestones in this mega sized, extra long, earth shattering episode as our flagship show hits one hundred episodes (not counting point fives) and we hit two hundred free episodes total between The Nerd Blitz, The Nerd Blitz Book Club, and The Nerd Blitz Commentaries!

This near 8 hour long multi-chambered episode, designed for easy listening in chunks, starts off as a typical main show episode in which Doom tries jamming three things into one Pimp Spot, then we talk the return of Scooby-Doo And Guess Who and how, despite being glad to have it back, WB bungled it yet again, and good ol Fitty watches the latest iteration of a beloved franchise from his kidhood...to interesting result...

Also, we welcome back 2 guests to the show, 1st off we welcome back the (music) man, the myth, the Legend himself, J Sarge for 3 brand new installments of our long running Dungeons And Dragons game, and our 2nd guest is bestselling Dune, Star Wars, X-Files, & Dan Shamble, Zombie P.I. Author Kevin J. Anderson who drops by for a chat about 2 recently released projects as well as the plethora of others he has on the horizon, which leads us to taking a look at conspiracy theories, Star Wars, and more!

Then, as if all that wasn't enough, we figured the overcompensation just wasn't quite there yet and that we needed to dig even deeper, so we decided to stand up and pull a commentary for the first 2 episodes of Buffy The Vampire Slayer out of our asses, which leads to a long lost discovery from the depths of one of our computers.

Mando Emmys, Hobbit Movies, thank you's, and some slight reminiscing are all among the topics discussed in this monumental milestone that puts a true jeanyus on full display, for better or worse, so whether you've been here from Episode 1 or this is your first go round with us, kick back and relax, Ye Fair Knights, as we celebrate all we have accomplished in these last 4+ years, gang!

    Part 1:
    *Episode Start - 0:00:00
    *Dungeons & Dragons Part 1 - 1:42:46
    *Kevin J. Anderson Interview - 2:32:00
    *Dungeons & Dragons Part 2 - 3:16:50

    Part 2:
*The Nerd Blitz Commentaries, Buffy The Vampire Slayer Pilot - 0:00:00
    *Dungeons & Dragons Part 3 - 2:26:10
    *Outro - 3:15:07

Two funny guys talking nerd stuff

I started listening to this podcast in the summer and I’ve never heard a bed episode. Doom’s voices and stories keep me laughing and I imagine Fitz shaking his head at all the craziness. I’ve learned a lot from these two and I urge anyone to give them a listen.

Hilarity ensues

Most of the time, I have never heard of the topics these two bring up. Don't get me wrong, I love the deep Star Wars knowledge and I've grown interest in a character I hadn't given a second thought in 15+ years. That's not why I listen. You will laugh while listening to this show. The hilarity comes from the contrast of Fitz's calm, reluctant tone and the volatility that is Scooby Doom. The age contrast adds to the dynamic charisma of the nerd blitz's hosts. Fitz a man in his early 40s, weathered from the 'struggle' of living the nerd life. And Doom, who I'm sure has already been through a lot, but is just starting to get punched square in the face with life. They have similar outlooks and interests but Their reactions and observations, no matter the topic, perfectly contrast each other for a show filled with yuks.
