The New Wave – Elgee's Story

Elgee van Tonder grew up surrounded by nature in a close-knit community in the highveld of South Africa. His family worked hard running their business, but, as the years progressed, violence affected their safety and well-being. By the time he was in his early 20’s the family had made their decision. They headed to New Zealand where a new, and very different life awaited them. The New Wave is a diversity storytelling project by Wintec School of Media Arts researchers Cate Prestidge and Paul Nelson.
