Research indicates that instances of sight-impaired individuals having cosmetic surgery are very rare.  This very, very happy patient of Austin-Weston, who happens to be blind, explains how and why she came to have cosmetic surgery - WoW - this really answers the question of beauty being skin deep.

Best Time to get a Facelift? w/Dr BYRON POINDEXTER 💃🏼 The New you, NOW! Podcast
Dr. Poindexter's answer just might surprise you!
When is the Best Time to Get a Facelift? Are you interested in getting a facelift, but not sure when you should schedule your procedure?
    Listen to learn:
While there’s no hard-and-fast rule that says WHEN to get a facelift, the point here is that it’s important to think about your personal schedule and how getting a facelift can be incorporated into your life.
Here are a few tips that can help:
Map out any major events that are coming up within the next year, like weddings, special events, and more. It’s recommended that you schedule your facelift at least six months before your next major event, as this should be when the majority of your swelling has disappeared.Pick a time that makes financial sense to you. For example, many people plan their surgeries during the mid-winter months, when they have fresh vacation time for the year and paid-out bonuses.Keep in mind that getting a facelift will require you to recover for four to six weeks (with one to two weeks at home), so it may be worth looking at your work schedule and avoiding times when you have major projects or launches planned. If you don’t want to wait for a certain time of year to get a younger-looking complexion, don’t worry: anti-aging injections – like Botox and fillers – can help you get the results you want without worrying about sun exposure!

The "Zoom Lift" w/Dr ROB SIGAL 💃🏼 The New you, NOW! Podcast

The "Zoom Lift" w/Dr ROB SIGAL 💃🏼 The New you, NOW! Podcast

The New you, NOW! Podcast  -  Washington D.C.-based #cosmeticsurgeon Dr. Robert Sigal has created the "Zoom-lift," prompted by the number of his patients who dislike their appearance when video chatting. Common complaints include heaviness and sagginess of the face and neck, which is exacerbated by the angle you hold a phone in order to use tools like Zoom, WebEx, FaceTime or Skype. Dr. Sigal explains that in response to this rise in requests he has developed a liposuction procedure specifically to address these areas.

Constant video meetings with their bad lighting, unfortunate angles, and awkward crops expose traits that people never noticed before. Board Certified Cosmetic Surgeon Dr. Robert Sigal, who has created the "Zoom-lift," joined Host Rebecca Bennett to discuss how to look and feel better. Dr. Sigarl created the Zoom-lift after many of his patients shared how much they disliked their appearance when video chatting.

"Patients come in with their iPhones and show me how they look on video calling applications like Teams, Zoom, and FaceTime. The angle at which the video camera or phone is held, with the caller looking downward into the camera, really captures any heaviness, fullness, and sagging of the face and neck," said Dr. Sigal.

Clients have told Dr. Sigal, "I never knew I looked like that! I need to do something!"

He calls it the 'Zoom-lift' effect, and patients are noticing it on Zoom, Gchat, Microsoft Teams, and other video platforms. Dr. Sigal led the industry in developing procedures to address this issue back in 2012, specifically.

Dr. Robert Sigal is a board-certified plastic surgeon and a partner at Austin-Weston, The Center for Cosmetic Surgery in Reston, VA. Board-certified in plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, he has 30+ years of experience specializing in a variety of aesthetic procedures for the face, breasts, and body. Dr. Sigal sees cosmetic surgery as a way of making major contributions to people’s lives. He has found that the real joy of his practice comes from providing patients with stunning results that improve their quality of life.

Breast Implant Illness: What Do We Know Right Now? w/ DR POINDEXTER

Breast Implant Illness: What Do We Know Right Now? w/ DR POINDEXTER

💃🏼 The New you, NOW! Podcast - Breast Implant Illness: What Do We Know Right Now? w/ DR POINDEXTER
Breast Implant Illness: What Do We Know Right Now? An objective and deep discussion with Doctor Byron Poindexter of @Austin-Weston, The Center for Cosmetic Surgery

Breast implants are now under the gun again after a checkered history. In the 80s reports of adverse events related to silicone breast implants led to FDA scrutiny and lawsuits against Dow Corning. Now, breast implants are once again under federal review over reports of a rare lymphoma in a few women with “textured” implants. Dr. Byron Poindexter, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, offers perspective on the current controversy. Is “breast implant illness” real? Has it been conclusively proven that breast implants cause lupus-like symptoms in women? Is there a high incidence of breast implant rupture? Do breast implants need to be checked on a regular basis after surgery? How often do they need to be replaced? How does Dr. Poindexter leverage his undergraduate training in psychology to meet patients’ expectations and address body image concerns?

Join host REBECCA BENNETT as she dives deep into this discussion with one of the nation's foremost #CosmeticSurgeons, Dr. BYRON POINDEXTER
