How can we transform the precepting process?
In this weeks episode we talk about precepting and how we can shift our mindset and make the process more beneficial for all those involved. It can be challenging to constantly be training new students and coworkers and can be a real factor in leading to burnout. On the other end, we all have witnessed firsthand or been a bystander in a poor preceptor relationship and the stress and job dissatisfaction that it causes. We have a choice when it comes to how we will go about training the future of the profession and I hope this episode helps to facilitate positive change.
How are you responding to the frustrations of TJC changes?
In today's episode we are diving in to the ways that you can CHOOSE to react to the changes that inevitably occur anytime The Joint Commission or any other surveying body is present in your hospital or employer. I get it, it can be really frustrating to feel like your work flow is being changed or you are being evaluated with a fine tooth comb. Unfortunately, you do not have any control over whether or not these bodies will be coming to your workplace (it is inevitable). However, you DO have control over how you let these frustrations impact your day and how you wish to move forward. My hope is that todays episode will encourage you to react in a productive way for both yourself and your team members.
I did what I said I would NEVER do...I went back to school!
I am back! I have been feeling a tug to get back into making new episodes so HERE IT IS!
In today's episode I am sharing my crazy decision to go back to school to get one step closer to creating my dream career in healthcare. Each step along the way in my journey has not always been intentional, BUT it has definitely served a purpose in helping me find my true passion.

this podcast is amazing.. i am a current nursing student & this allows me to hear stories from other nurses in the profession and explore the different options i have for my future. i find this to be so motivation & i’m super thankful i came across this while searching for things to listen to!
I only listened to one episode. While I think it’s great what you’re doing due to the health care shortage, you sound like you’re talking to a class of kindergarten students. Perhaps you could use a different tone and vernacular. I feel like I’m 10 years old.
So great for Student Nurses, Nurses, and anyone!
The sheltering in place has got me listening to more podcasts and this one is great! I love hearing all of the different nurses’ experiences and what their nursing journeys have been like. As a new grad, I still have a long journey ahead of me but this podcast has opened up ideas for paths I’d love to take along the way!
