They emphasize the importance of community and cultural identity in their mission, aiming to rally support for Ukraine while honoring their heritage. The conversation highlights their collaborative efforts, the challenges of balancing activism with academic responsibilities, and the lessons they've learned along the way.    Leah and Nellie also provide practical advice for young activists looking to make a difference. They stress the significance of starting small, setting achievable goals, and utilizing technology to raise awareness. Their passion for their cause shines through as they discuss the various ways individuals can get involved with Slavic Voice 4 Ukraine, including writing, fundraising, and participating in contests that promote awareness of the conflict. This episode serves as a powerful reminder of the impact young people can have when they come together for a common cause.    They are currently hosting an International Youth Essay & Poetry Contest titled “Four Years Into a War, the World Learned to Ignore.”  The contest is open to middle school, high school, and college-aged students worldwide and invites young writers to reflect on the ongoing war, its human impact, and the importance of preserving stories that risk being overlooked. Find out more about how you can enter by the February 24th, 2026 deadline here.
