A podcast dedicated to the celebration of college football, America's First and Greatest Game.
The Old College Try, 2021, Ep. 14
How did we get here so fast, folks? Believe it or not, the college football (regular) season -- the greatest regular season in American sports, by the way -- is now over. Which is utterly depressing. The good news is that we have quite a weekend of football ahead, and quite a weekend to look back on. Tim and Mike discuss the week that was in college football, look ahead to championship weekend, and generally banter about all things about America's Greatest Game, right here, in the latest episode of The Old College Try.
The Old College Try, 2021, Ep. 13
Finally -- finally! -- Tim convinced Mike and Noted Listener Brian Schleter to attend a Lehigh-Lafayette game. It was a great day in Bethlehem, in so many ways, and there is so much to discuss in the world of college football as well. Thanks for listening, everyone. Pocase!
The Old College Try, 2021, Ep. 12
As Tim prepares to welcome Mike and Noted Listener Brian Schleter to their first ever Lehigh-Lafayette game, the guys discuss all of the latest developments in the ever crazy world of college football. Updates on Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, Penn State, Clemson and more. And of course, the locks of the week as well. Enjoy everyone! Beat Lafayette! Pocase!
The Old College Try, 2021, Ep. 11
The new College Football Playoff rankings are out, they are a complete joke, and it seems that both Tim and Mike are in agreement on that point. All that being said ... we still love this sport! And we think that will come across once more in the most recent episode of The Old College Try Show. Enjoy, everyone. Pocase!
The Old College Try, 2021, Ep. 10
It's the first week of the College Football Playoff rankings, and Tim (and Mike) have opinions. As do we all. Enjoy the show, all. Pocase!
The Old College Try, 2021, Ep. 9
You have listened to this show for a while. You know Tim's love for Penn State football. You can assume where Tim's mind is at after his allegedly Top 10-ranked Nittany Lions lost to 2-5 Illinois on Homecoming weekend, right? Well, perhaps not. In this week's episode of The Old College Try, Tim and Mike discuss not only the Nits' awful loss last weekend, but also the resurgent Ohio State Buckeyes, coaching drama around the country, all of the biggest games of the weekend to come and more. Enjoy, everyone. Pocase!
Labor of Love
Obvious from the first time you listen these guys love college football. The rivalries, the history, the geography, the “optics”, the upsets ... and everything else that makes it the greatest game. From detailed breakdowns of their yearly road trips to the ups and downs of their personal rooting preferences ( Penn State, MD & Indiana ) It’s a great listen every week and always over too soon. Two hosts that are both likable and engaging but also extremely knowledgeable. One of the best college football podcasts out there.
Love this show. TCFA / TOCT. This show fits the gap between the serious analytical and the lighthearted comedic shows. This is sitting at a bar talking with people very informed about the game. If you're looking about positional matchups in a specific game or how some team is going to make the transition to a three four defense, this isn't the show. That said, it's incredibly informative and more approachable for the normal fan.
