(Seriously... we're the only ones)
Ep 298: Run
You're not my real mom!
We make record time going off the rails while discussing Aneesh Chagnaty's "Run". Hobbled by bad weather, late starts and two different definitions of comfort movies, we swing back around to discuss everything that makes Chagnaty's follow up to 2018's "Searching" unique.

Ep 297: Citizen Kane
News On The March!
In anticipation of the soon-to-be-streaming "Mank" from David Fincher, we enlisted the help of George and Liam over at Oeuvrebusters (https://shows.acast.com/oeuvre-busters) to figure out if we should dethrone Orson Welles' "Citizen Kane" from its number one spot at the AFI Top 100 films list.
Fair warning, this episode spoils an 80 year old movie and has more hot takes than a sled on fire!

Ep 296: Real Steel
Get ready for rock 'em sock 'em podcasting! Matt and Shahir try to make some money going toe to toe on the best comfort fighting movie of 2011 (hint, there's more than one!)
We jab left with a discussion of Hugh Jackman's movie stardom then hook right with a conversation on the Shawn Levy aesthetic and finally one of us is gonna get knocked out with a robo-CGI uppercut.

Ep 295: His House
Come in, kick off your shoes and make yourself at home! Just try to avoid the people under the stairs in Remi Weekes debut film "His House"
We cover our eyes and discuss the haunting of "His House" along with a frank discussion of assimilation vs acculturation and the intricate dynamics of survivor guilt.

Let's prepare an incantation to summon the resurrected spirit of Matt Braunsdorf (https://www.mattbraunsdorf.com) in order to help us uncover the extraordinary truths about Mike Ahern & Enda Loughman's new film... Extra Ordinary.
Is this horror comedy a delightful dance with the devil or does it live in the shadows of superior films from other diabolical directors?

Still the Best (And Only) Podcast About Movies
Do you suffer from boredom? Are you looking to kill 300+ hours of your life with a bunch of people talking about movies? Then this is the podcsat for you. Throughout every episode, Matt and Shahir emit amazing chemistry, and each guest they have brings a new energy to the show. I have reccomended this podcast to many friends and coworkers, and it sets the gold standard for all movie podcast that come after it. If you are looking for a starting point, episodes such as the Son of Saul episode (Episode 43) and the Micheal More in Trumpland epsiode (Episode 73). I also highly reccomend the marathon reviews like The Avengers Phases reviews and the Star Wars reviews. Either way, always a joy to see what comes next for Matt and Shahir and I will alway be a fan.
P.S. yes, I submitted another review, it felt nessecary after I listened to every episode
P.P.S And no Shahir, I didnt mispell Chemistry this time, and I humbly apologise to Shavali for disgracing her profession in my last review
Just stumbled upon this podcast when I googled “podcast reviews on asghar farhadi movies” and here I am. I love it and have been binging 5-6 episodes a day to catch up. These guys know their films and Shahir literally knows every single movie I ask him about and he is obsessed with Farhadi, as am I! Keep up the great work fellas.
