Episode 142 - The Other Side of Addiction with Al Richards

Episode 142 - The Other Side of Addiction with Al Richards

Al Richards is a true inspiration to those who have faced addiction and are seeking a way to overcome it. After battling a weekend alcohol and cocaine addiction for eight years, Al lost his job of 24 years as a result. But instead of giving up, he turned his life around and spent the next 14 years working tirelessly on himself and helping others understand addiction. In March of 2021, he started The Other Side of Addiction Podcast, which has quickly become a space for open and honest dialogue about addiction and recovery. And just this past February, Al started the ARC/Addiction Resource Collective Networking group, in an effort to connect people with the resources and support they need to overcome addiction. Al believes that it's time to lift each other up, and he is leading the way with his powerful message of hope and healing.

Episode 139 - The Year of Getting Uncomfortable

Greatness has a hard time happening in your comfort zone. To get that you have to stretch and expand beyond what you normally do. This year is the year that I make a concerted effort to get uncomfortable in order to reach for the things that I want in life. I started naming my years now and it has had an impact on how I show up through out my year. What will you name your year?

Episode 138 - The 300 list with Steve Harvey

If you could be guaranteed to get 10% of what you asked for if you were to write them down,  how many things would you write down? Steve Harvey opened my eyes to the 300 list in 2019. I've been making a written list every year since then and it's definitely working out great for me. I also discuss vision boards and Bullet Journaling to have a more productive year.

Episode 137 - We Not Me

Episode 137 - We Not Me

So many people think that they need to be independent in this world and they fail to realize that they would never have survived infancy without the aid of someone else in their life. We are all dependent on someone else at any given point in this life and we should be doing more to cultivate connectivity. I discuss the book We: Ditch the Me Mindset and Change the World by Eric George and cover the 6 outcomes he writes about from creating connectivity.
#boyswillbeboys features Jim Finch who showed up in Kentucky with a truck full of food and a BBQ grill to feed the people devastated by the latest tornado.

Virtue is the Answer

From a female perspective, if you are a man, and you are looking to love everything about who you are, possibly so you can offer those strengths to someone who deserves them, you’ve found the right podcast.

My life took a very strange turn a few years back. In my failed relationship, I began to seek out male perspectives to understand why I was far from happy. I stood in angst regarding men because of my experience of not having my partner stand in all his power with me. By chance, this podcast began providing real insights, it was how I began to again recall my appreciation for masculine energy.

I especially love this podcast on virtue. Hugh describes magnificence with horses (and men) in a profound beautiful way, “To own your strengths without arrogance, and love your deficiencies without insecurity.” Imagine the virtue that will rise when we all honor the best and worst parts of our innate selves.

Anthony and Scott are a gateway to appreciating the balance of strength and insecurities in men. By merely helping men realize their magnificence, they are creating bridges to heal or divided world. Bravo!

Outstandingly Positive or Positively Outstanding

You two are putting out some awesome content and I’m happy to have found it. I’m already taking more accountability and actioning change to improve my role as a father, husband and human. I had no idea how much I needed this. Great work guys. Keep putting it out and I’ll keep listening.
