Never have I ever been happier to be wrong! Well, a couple of weeks ago I said something – on this show, as a matter of fact – I said something like, “We all know the Astros weren’t going nowhere in the playoffs,” and I couldn’t have been more wrong, could I? And as I said today on The Outdoor Cooking Show, “Never have I ever been happier to be wrong!” C’mon, admit it – you didn’t think they were going anywhere in the playoffs either, did you? Be honest!

Life’s too short to drink cold coffee. Yeah, yeah – I know. I started the show last week with that same line, “Life’s too short to drink cold coffee,” but this week I actually have a method to my madness. Last week, I realized I’d let my coffee get cold right before we started The Outdoor Cooking Show, and I didn’t have time to run to the microwave and warm it up, but that stupid oversight actually inspired the entire subject matter for this week’s edition of the show. Why? Because this past week marked National Coffee Day.

Life’s too short to drink cold coffee! I’m saying that out loud to remind myself to go warm up this cup of coffee in the microwave during the commercial break, because – life’s too short to drink cold coffee. I guess now I know why my parents used to drink their coffee so quickly when I was a kid. After all, they didn’t have microwaves back in the 50s, and when their coffee went cold – it stayed cold, so they drank it fast! And it’s ironic that this subject even came up in the first place, because I believe this next week is National Coffee Day.

I’ve been doing a little more people watching this past week, and I wanted to start the show off by sharing some of my observations with you about people watching. I think you’ll find some of them humorous, and if not – at least I hope they’ll be entertaining, or informative.

One of my favorite lines is, “Be careful what you ask for – you just might get it.” It actually applies very well to many things in life, but it was spot on about live sports these past few days. My wife and I were watching the Astros get destroyed for what seemed to be the 13th game in a row, and she said, “Well, we asked God to give us live sports back, but we didn’t say ‘winning live sports,’ so I guess we need to be a little more specific next time.”

Here’s hoping this finds everybody in your household healthy, happy and safe. And you know – it seems like every conversation starts that way these days, doesn’t it? Actually, it’s a rather sad commentary on the state of our society in 2020, but we’re all more than just a little bit shell-shocked at this point, right?

Great show

Lots of fun and very easy to follow tips and techniques, served up with some good old fashioned conversations. I admit to being a big fan of the old Hudson and Harrington shows, so I especially enjoy when Fred Olson drops in. Well worth the listening.

Too many commercials

Great podcast if you love tons of commercials and very little content.
