About Austin Hill Shaw
As a human being, Austin's core intent is to be a loved and loving man who gets things done joyfully.
As a designer, and the founder of 3 Lights Design in Oakland, California, as well as the creator of the Core Needs Design Method and The Joyful Home Remodel, his mission is to reform architecture at it practiced today from a transactional, material-based, consumer pursuit to one that is transformative, to one that honors and celebrates the intelligence and generosity of the natural world, and to one that is deeply collaborative, co-creative and fulfilling for everyone involved.
As a teacher and author of The Shoreline of Wonder: On Being Creative, his intent is to empower others as creators by underscoring that creativity is both a defining trait of being human as well as a core human need for true fulfillment.
As a healer, he works as a homemaker, helping others feel at home in themselves, their partnerships, and their communities, all the while assisting them in reconnecting them to the land, to Nature, and the Cosmos.
Austin is also featured in PAUSE the book, Rachael's book and his story of an extended pause in a monastary.
