Jumped the Shark
This one started out good, but by this season, they are so far behind it’s laughable. George was convicted in December. It’s now March and you’re still throwing out “it’s important to note that George Wagner IV has not been convicted of any crimes” and acting as though the case is still ongoing. There are other issues however. Constantly throwing in your political beliefs has nothing to do with the story, and is shoddy journalism. Then there is the harping about witnesses not wanting to be recorded and how that shouldn’t be a thing. They have rights, even though they are guilty. You are journalists, so am I. We aren’t special, nor do we have unique privileges the common people do not. Many states do not allow for the recording of witnesses. It has nothing to do with it being in the public interest, yet you keep claiming that. Then there’s the ads. At this point it’s a 20 minute show with 10-15 minutes of ads. You’re milking it for a payday. That’s everything that is wrong with true crime journalism toady in a nutshell.
Take a listen if you’re from Ohio especially
Great covering of this tragedy but definitely too much talking about things that are common sense, don’t connect to the crime or just not necessary. I skipped a lot of episodes in seasons 2 and 3 and still fully understood everything going on.
Bummer about subscription at the end
