Banning abortion is NOT in the Bible: Unconventional Conversations w Pastor Paul

Banning abortion is NOT in the Bible: Unconventional Conversations w Pastor Paul

Jeremiah 1, Psalm 139, Luke 1 contain passages often used by Christians to support their virulent anti-abortion extremism. Yet, none of these passages, nor any of the 10 Commandments emphasize banning abortion, nor proclaim that life begins at conception. Pastor Paul shares why abortion is a political issue, used to manipulate Christians for their votes, rather than one clearly commanded in scripture.

Fearfully & Wonderfully... Weird; Overcoming the Bondage of Social Norms: InspireU w/ Pastor Paul

Fearfully & Wonderfully... Weird; Overcoming the Bondage of Social Norms: InspireU w/ Pastor Paul

The biblical story of Jesus gave a mission statement of opening the eyes of the blind and setting captives free. The captivity Jesus saw and condemned in his story more than all else? The bondage of religious law vs connect to god, neighbor and self. Nowhere did he condemn the clothing, presentation or loves of another person.

So how it is that Christianity in our age has come to me "don't run like a girl, don't throw like a girl, don't dress like one and FOR GODSSAKE don't cry or seek emotional help, like a girl."
Pastor Paul shares why this belief is a bondage that must be broken if our society is survive. #statusquosucks

Better to be 'Chill'? Or Transformed?

Better to be 'Chill'? Or Transformed?

In Coaching and Mentorship, Pastor Paul awesome hears clients say "I'm chill, things don't bother me." Quite often in our culture this can be translated "I'm really good at avoiding and coping."
This method works, until it doesn't. Paul teaches today that the story of Jesus is about people being set free of trying to "chill" and instead to be transformed into a new person.

"Am I Jonah?" How Jonah 4 Speaks Against Christian View of War & Violence

"Am I Jonah?" How Jonah 4 Speaks Against Christian View of War & Violence

People are so quick to follow the words of leaders to call people "those people." Words like "thugs," "rioters," "terrorists" and "traitors" are thrown out to defame and avoid hearing the story of others. Unconventional Pastor Paul believes everyone who calls themselves Christian needs to read the story of Jonah of the Hebrew scripture. Could it be it is an indictment of the rightwing Christian view of war and violence? As we see conflict breaking out around the world, this challenging story of Pastor Paul's Bible story is one to consider.

The Evangelical Big Brother: A Modern Day Parable w/Pastor Paul

The Evangelical Big Brother: A Modern Day Parable w/Pastor Paul

Did you ever wonder why the big brother in the prodigal son story was so jealous when his wayward sybling came home? Maybe you can relate. As Pastor Paul demonstrates in this modern day version of this parable, it's a desire to withhold grace from others that is so fostered by a religious mindset - none of us should want to be that "big brother." Read the original parable for yourself in Luke 15:11-32

Been putting it off but wow! And woe! Great job!

By far the best sermon I’ve heard in over 40 years of listening to sermons nearly every day. Thank you for your obedience and grace. Your heart is evidently filled with compassion for the least of these. Good job. Probably most unpopular amongst the current trends in Christianity but that speaks for itself.

Love the perspective

I join at listened to my first podcast from this show and gave a 5 star rating. The title was “Jesus at Planned Parenthood”. It was good but I (in my humble opinion) would have probably carried the story on a bit. Jesus could have gotten her in the door to where it was quiet and said “Have you heard about what I came to earth to do? Do you know my Father?” He could have gone on to have a quiet, soothing conversation with her asking if she has sought God’s free and loving counsel. I’m guessing God understands abortion in some cases, but others, He would want to encourage that Mother to have her child because He has great plans for that human being. God will help anyone who seeks His direction/will.
