110: Twins Can be Twice as Nice

110: Twins Can be Twice as Nice

My guest this week is the delightful Kassidy Birdsong, a social worker by training who now is at home with her twins. Kassidy shares not only about twin life, but about an amazing toddler music program she began in a senior citizen memory care unit near her home. I do apologize for the echo in this episode. Inexpicably I decided not to plug in my headphones for this interview so it recorded Kassidy with a slight echo delay. But I promise it’s worth it. I had such fun talking with Kassidy.

So, grab a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and join us as we talk about the magic of two babies at once, learning to let go of expectations and do what’s best for your family, and Kassidy’s creative way to build community and meet the needs of three generations all at one time.

109: Making Choices at the Motherhood Buffet

109: Making Choices at the Motherhood Buffet

This week I sat down and tried to explain some thoughts I’ve had about motherhood to Lori Lynn. And we recorded it to share with you guys. I hope I was able to explain myself well enough. The gist is that motherhood is like a buffet full of wonderful choices and there’s no way we can eat it all. We have to make choices. We are PRIVILEGED to make choices. And we have to leave some stuff for other people.

Anyways, grab a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and join us as we talk about choices in motherhood, the irony of complaining because we have to choose between several wonderful things, and where this whole idea came from in the first place.

My guest this week is April Gentry. She leads a busy family life in the Bay Area and she’s sharing all about what her postpartum experiences were like. And a couple of her little ones make cameo appearances and we can hear the family life in the background which is so fun.

So grab a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and join us as we chat about the painful reality of just how tired you can be, settling into new baby rhythms, and some crazy construction chaos that led to a big oops.

    107: Diapering Decisions

    107: Diapering Decisions

This week Lori Lynn and I thought we’d have a practical discussion about diapering and the different choices we made. Moms spend a lot of time and money on diapers and surprisingly we haven’t really covered it much on this podcast.

So, grab a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and join us as we chat about fluffy bootys, various types of  smell issues, and of course, what my favorite bargain brand is.

106: Wisdom from a Seasoned Mom

106: Wisdom from a Seasoned Mom

This week I’m thrilled to have Karen McVey as our guest. Karen is one of my go-to sources for wise council on all topics, especially motherhood. She and I are personality doppelgängers and I know that her advice will be something that is healthy and well thought out and will probably fit will with my life too.

So, grab a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and join us as we chat about Karen’s seven postpartum seasons, the differences in having just a few young children versus having a larger family that includes helpful oder children, and how crucial it is that EVERY mom get support postpartum no matter how much experience she has.

Hard Pass On This One

This podcast is a waste of time. It is poorly produced, has no real structure and the hosts are not knowledgable about the topic. I could not get past the sound quality and the annoying voices.

mmontemurno ,

Annoying, slow and waste of time.

I was looking for actual information, not two annoying slow talkers with no actual expertise, or structure to their episode. As a new mom I found this sadly a maddening waste of time.
