Katy shares her journey from an idyllic upbringing in Edina, Minnesota, as one of six kids with a strong Midwestern work ethic to leading multiple organizations. She reflects on her varied career path—from production assistant for a travel TV series to VP of Production for an interactive communications company, and from CEO of a children's educational products company to helping run the family businesses after her father's passing. Aaron and Katy discuss what led her to discover her true passion for advocating for women leaders at WomenVenture and later joining TeamWomen's board in 2015 before becoming Executive Director a year later. Katy explains how TeamWomen creates a collective where women in all stages of their career journeys gain leadership skills, expand their networks, boost confidence, and connect through mentorship opportunities. The organization also coaches girls aged 10-18 on confidence, mental wellness, resilience, and leadership. Plus, Katy shares the magic that happens when women find their voice and meet the people they didn't know they needed to meet, her evolution as a confident leader who trusts her intuition, and her love of water skiing, surfing, and bell bottoms.
