Apps I Use for Health and Fitness
Staying fit and healthy is an important part of both work and play, and apps have become vital tools to help me stay on track. My apps of choice are Apple Music and Audible for audiobooks, Trainerize so I can provide online personal training to my clients and follow up with them in-person, Apple Podcasts to hear tips from the experts, Interval Timer for workouts with exercise intervals, Insight Timer for guided meditations, Fat Secret for macronutrient tracking, and the Kindle Scribe which helps me review ebooks professionally. With these apps in my arsenal, I’m able to stay motivated during work and also enjoy plenty of activities during training time.

How can I use RPE and RIR?
In today's podcast I go over a training technique that I use for general fitness folks, but also for powerlifters and strength and conditioning athletes called RIR and RPE.
Repetitions in Reserve (RIR) and rate of perceived exertion (RPE) are educational tools for determining the intensity of an exercise.
RIR is the number of repetitions you can do before reaching muscular failure, while RPE is a measure of how hard those repetitions feel.
Those who use these tools effectively can gain insight into their bodies' limits and carefully track progression. Understanding RIR and RPE is key to achieving desired results while avoiding overexertion and safely pushing forward with an exercise program.

Supplements
In this week's episode, I go over my (very) short list of supplements. Many people are surprised that this list isn't jampacked with supplements. I only have a few, and those are used for a purpose for either muscle building, overall vitality, health, and wellness. I cover my bases as an athlete with supplements but looks to food for further health and wellness. Here are my favorite companies: Optimum Nutrition, Solgar, Smarter Nutrition, and One A Day. Links mentioned in the show: Creatine study: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6265971/ Danish study of how Vitamin D is linked to increased testosterone levels: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31953167/
