Thank you for your interest in creating an altar for the IAM Winter Solstice Fire Tenders Gathering. This year’s focus is “Inwardly Strong”.

Throughout the ages, shamans were called to hold the container, with a clear vision for the health of their communities. Even with all our magic and shamanic tools, this service has become a challenge, and yet the call from the Wind Spirits grows louder and more fierce. This year I have been called to offer Sanctuary to our Community, and offer a Winter Solstice Ceremony, then lead a group to quietly tend to our Inner Flame. It is time to become “inwardly strong” as one of our Windies, Michelle Latinski so aptly called her personal result after two years in the WindWork ® apprenticeship program.

This year we will deepen the experience as we apprentice to the wind spirits to usher back the light. We will be holding a 10-day personal altar vigil. Instead of lots of activity and live presentations, we will walk quietly with our prayer in Nature. Renee will send a daily short video prompt, and there will be a private group for sharing your inner experience.

Steve Bull
Steve holds a Masters of Divinity and a Masters of (Clinical) Social Work. He worked as a Christian missionary for 16 years, pioneering two works: in the inner city of San Francisco as an outreach to impoverished Central American refugees; the other in the remote parts of Eastern Oregon to cowboys and ranchers. Following his ministries, Steve worked as a psychotherapist for 19 years, holding a license in Clinical Social
Work. Steve also functioned as a Social Worker and Chaplain for Hospice over a number of years. Experiences in ministry, psychotherapy, and hospice motivated Steve to integrate his understanding of spirituality, religion, and his professional training through the study of
Shamanism. How are people healed who are deeply, traumatically wounded on a soul/spirit basis, such as the veterans with whom Steve worked? How do people grow and enhance a connection with their spirit during their lifetime and then easily cross to the next life? How are people physically healed by working with their spirit in the physical/spirit realms? These and other questions have excited Steve’s heart and mind and continually led him to learn and access the spirit world. The authorship of this book has come out of the deep questioning that provoked Steve’s thinking.

Sally Denny
Sally has had an intimate connection with the spirit realm since childhood. Being involved in leadership capacities within the Catholic and Protestant churches she attended through the years, Sally has led retreats, seminars, Bible studies, and liturgical gatherings in lay and staff positions. For the last twenty years she has worked as a licensed massage and bodywork therapist.
