Can You Really Be Anointed to Excel In Business? w/ EJ Gaines The Purpose Collective

    • Christianity

Being anointed is often be seen as synonymous with a platform or a feeling you have after experiencing someone gifted, but it's much more than that. I got to have an amazing conversation with EJ Gaines about being anointed for business, and let's be clear...EJ IS an anointed businessman.
Erik Justin (“EJ”) Gaines is the Senior Vice President of Marketing at Capitol CMG and Co-Executive Director of Motown Gospel, divisions of Capitol Records/Universal Music Group. An entertainment lawyer and former artist manager with 20 years of experience in the music business, EJ Gaines has guided the careers of GRAMMY Award-winning recording artists, producers and songwriters, as well as producers and talent in film and television.
In his current role as Senior VP of Marketing, Capitol CMG/Co-Executive Director of Motown Gospel, EJ Gaines oversees marketing and commercial partnerships for over a dozen artists on the roster of the world’s largest Christian music label, including Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Jeremy Camp, Newsboys, Tye Tribbett and Brian Courtney Wilson. Most recently, he oversaw the marketing campaigns for Harry Connick Jr.‘s award-winning project, 'Alone With My Faith', Tori Kelly’s GRAMMY-winning 'Hiding Place', and Tasha Cobbs Leonard’s acclaimed 'Royalty: Live at The Ryman'.
In this episode, EJ dived into:
How EJ prevents himself from wrapping his identity into his job The role his faith plays in how he operates in the music industry EJ's definition of anointed Why he believes he's anointed to do the work he does How embracing his anointing changed how he views his work How he prevents his career and purpose from overshadowing his relationship with God and the time he spends with Him Check out the show notes for this episode here: https://pavielle.com/116
