    50 - Season 1 Wrap Up

    50 - Season 1 Wrap Up

We wanted to close off the season by taking a brief look back at some of our highlights from the past 50 episodes and give you an insight into the direction we'll be taking the podcast in the not too distant future.

We've loved recording the past 50 episodes and are now going to focus over the next couple of months on some amazing interviews. We'll still be connecting with business owners but will be focussing on the mission more than the person and want to make sure there's some fantastic actionable content for you too.

See you in a couple of months and as always Stay On Purpose!

    49 - Passion in Business That's A Cut Above

    49 - Passion in Business That's A Cut Above

This week Chris and I are talking to Dino from the Glasgow Grooming Company about how he got into Barbering and found a niche in targeting young professionals in the South Side of Glasgow.

It was such a relaxed conversation and Dino talks with such humility about nudging himself into business and taking action to understand what his passion was before committing to his path. It doesn't need to be a masterplan, but carving out a unique local product can be incredibly fulfilling.

48 - Finding Purpose and Fulfilment in the 3rd Sector

48 - Finding Purpose and Fulfilment in the 3rd Sector

This week Chris and I are joined by James Jopling from the British Heart Foundation and amongst other things he's tasked with reducing premature cardiovascular disease (CVD) deaths in Scotland, which account for 22% of all premature deaths.

James has spent the vast majority of his career in the 3rd sector and his career has followed the areas he has had a real passion for. His impressive career has included roles with Samaritans and Shelter, and it was great to dig into his motivations for moving into the 3rd sector and his various roles within it.

    British Heart Foundation
CVD deaths still account for over 22% of all premature deaths in Scotland yet most of the great work to reduce this is funded outside of the NHS. The downstream cost impact of CVD in healthcare is estimated to be £800 million, whilst the economic impact is more than double that.

That means donations from you and me are really the only thing helping to reduce the impact of CVD in Scotland and across the UK.

47 - Neurodiversity, Business, and Life

This week we have Mark Connolly on, owner of Marketing Agency Marketing Mavens and one of Chris' best mates.

We spoke about Mark's experience of neurodiversity with his daughter and how we need to be much more open and understanding about our role in making neurodiversity less  stigmatised in business and life in general.

It was great to talk about a subject that is still not understood very widely or very well, and perhaps it might resonate with you or someone you know.

As always, if you like the episode give us a share and drop us a review on your chosen player.
