Mom life. We're surrounded by the message that it's the tired life. The no-time-for-myself life. The hard life. We're supposed to get through it. Survive. Cling on by the last little thread. And at the same time, Carpe Diem - enjoy every moment because it's going to go by so fast. The typical mom culture sends us all kinds of mixed, typically negative messages. We shouldn't take care of ourselves; it's selfish. The more ragged you run yourself, the bigger your badge of honor. But also, ditch your mom bod and work out. Don't yell. Make more money. Show up. Be better, but not at the expense of time with your kids. I am putting a hard stop to all of this. While being a mom, running a business, and whatever else you might have going on is hard, it is a lot and there's lots of giving of yourself, the idea that motherhood means living a joyless, nonstop-hustle-with-zero-balance kind of life, where you give and give and give and never take, needs to stop. I'm on a mission to help you stop counting down the minutes 'til bedtime (at least most days). Stop the mom guilt and shame game. Stop cleaning up after your kids' childhood and start being present for it. I want to help you thrive in work, home, and life. I believe in John 10:10 that we are called to living an abundant life and I know moms are not excluded from that promise. Join me in conversations about simplicity, some business and life hacks, spirituality and lots of other good stuff that leads to a life of less for the sake of enjoying more in your motherhood. I'm Allie Casazza and this is The Purpose Show.

Ep 283: How to Create A Morning Routine That Sets You Up For A Good Day

Ep 283: How to Create A Morning Routine That Sets You Up For A Good Day

Your morning routine has the power to set you up for success for the rest of your day — it should work FOR you and bring ease to your life. It should not be rigid or driven by rules, but be fluid and personal.

Every new season of my life usually brings a shift in my morning routine. And the one thing I have learned is this: If it's hard to stick to, it's not actually serving you.

Before you create a morning routine you have to define what a successful day means to YOU (and only you can define that). For me, I want to be happy, feel good, and be really present. That is my foundation for a morning routine that gets me ready to experience THAT success. And I know you can experience that same success everyday. Pop in your headphones, grab a notebook or open your notes app, and let's create a morning routine that works FOR you.

I want to see your routines! Tag me on Instagram as you figure out your routine and even as you live it out. I cannot wait to see YOU living our your definition of success, babe.

    In this episode Allie discusses:
🤩 Why it is important to define what a successful day is for YOU before you create a morning routine
☀️ Her current morning routine — she breaks it down moment by moment!
📝 Prompts + questions you can use to get started creating YOUR morning routine

Ep 282: The Question We Have To Stop Asking

Ep 282: The Question We Have To Stop Asking

Hello 2023 ✨ We are kicking off this year putting one question to rest — Is it enough for me to spend 5 minutes on myself everyday? Friend, stop asking yourself this question. YES. Yes it is enough and you don't need to ask yourself permission for that time anymore. You are worthy of that time and deserve that time. It's not about the time you are giving yourself, it is about you knowing that you deserve that time.

    In this episode Allie discusses:

Why you need to stop asking yourself if time for you is ok

Shifting your mindset from "what's enough" to "what do I need"

How you can honor and value yourself throughout your day in a way that feels good to you

Ep 281: Owning Your Enoughness, Overcoming Shame, & Rewiring Your Brain with Marisa Peer

Ep 281: Owning Your Enoughness, Overcoming Shame, & Rewiring Your Brain with Marisa Peer

"I Am Enough" was a book I read earlier this year and it has landed in my top 5 books of 2022, and I knew I wanted to round out this years podcast episodes having a conversation with the incredible author, Marisa Peer.

Spending decades working as a therapist, she found that most issues point back to one belief: I am not enough. If you are not enough, then you are needing something more. But if you know you are enough, you can have more but not need it. If you are feeling like you are not enough ____ (fill in the blank to whatever that is), this message is for you.

Marisa is going to walk through how to overcome shame and rewire your brain to believe (and live out) that you ARE enough. As you head into 2023, I hope you can walk in the confidence that you truly are enough.

In this episode Allie AND Marisa discuss:

Enoughness; what it is, where it comes from, and why it matters

Where you should begin to believe that truly you are enough

Making shame and hurt familiar (it's a powerful thing you HAVE to understand!)

Self talk - what to avoid and how to affirm yourself

Ep 280: The Very Real Fear of Being Seen Online

Let's talk about the reality of showing up online. People see where I am now and see the confidence I have online and don't realize the struggle I faced at the beginning.
Friend, I would have panic attacks even thinking about going live on Instagram or showing up for my online community. I would freak out thinking about being judged or negative comments.
But if like me, you have a social media account that supports your business you HAVE to overcome your fear of being seen online. Don't let them control you or stop you from the message you are meant to share with the world. You got this, babe. Let's dive into this together.
    In this episode Allie discusses:

The early days of going live on Instagram and the anxiety she experienced.

How you can make unfamiliar things familiar to you that helps settle your anxiety around doing something that feels scary (like showing up online!)

Stepping into a place of neutrality — it is the very thing that will help you overcome your fears.

Life-changing wisdom!

Sad to see where things have gone

Allie changed my life back in 2017. It makes what I’m seeing now from her especially sad.
I had unsubscribed to Allie’s emails several years back because of how much marketing she did in her emails - it felt pushy and I didn’t appreciate it.
I still saw her posts after that and noticed a general shift…couldn’t really articulate it but just something. I gradually fell out of listening to her.
I’ve been out of the social media realm for awhile and just saw a post today where it explained her and Brian are divorcing after some time of being/living “unmarried” (term she coined I guess?). There’s allegations of serious abuse from her towards some her team members. There’s been resignations within her company by team members who had been with her since the beginning. I’m sad for her, her husband (?), and most especially for her children.

Original Review from 2019:
One of the things I genuinely look forward to about Mondays and Wednesdays is that I know Allie will have a new podcast ready! It’s become part of my morning ritual to have it playing while I eat breakfast with my little guy. I have listened to every podcast and I always walk away feeling refreshed and empowered. She tackles a broad range of topics, but typically each podcast is specific and tactical. She doesn’t just talk concepts, she talks how to make it happen. I found Allie back in January 2017, when my firstborn was only a couple months old and I tell everyone SHE CHANGED MY LIFE, and not just because she changed how I keep my home, but because she changed how I think about it. It’s become a lifestyle, and I am so thankful. My home is peaceful and easy to keep up. My next child is due in October and I feel so much more able to tackle this new stage of life, because so many other things in my life are in order. Obviously there’s still much to do, and I wouldn’t even call myself a full-blown minimalist, but I love the peace and calm and joy that has been brought to my life through listening to Allie. Also, super appreciative of her Christian values. As one myself, it makes it so nice to listen knowing that’s her worldview, but I also appreciate how her message is for all and anyone can learn and grow from it. In short, love Allie! Can’t wait to hear whatever else is coming.

Different and not in a good way

Allie’s podcasts have really changed over the years. I guess that’s indicative of where she’s at in life, she’s repeating a lot of law of attraction stuff, and that’s fine for her, but having hours to dedicate to laying in the pool during summer mornings just isn’t accessible to most people, especially moms. And when a podcast is titled “how to create a morning routine” learning about said pool routine just isn’t helpful for most moms, like, where are her kids during all of her matcha drinking and manifesting? Most of her longtime listeners are here because we are dripping in children and do not have time for her long, self indulgent morning routines.

Another thing to note, nearly half the podcast was ads. I get that podcasters make money from ads, and for some people that is the goal, but then please don’t act like you’re here to help moms simply fly their life, when you’re really about making money.

Things have changed, sounds like Allie is in a good place and that’s good for her. But for the average mom who’s coming here to look for help when you’re drowning in motherhood, listen to the old episodes, or better yet, check our KC Davis.
