    The QNow - 594 - A Grounded Approach

    The QNow - 594 - A Grounded Approach

We are hot and heavy into the election cycle for 2024. Primaries have happened, people complaining on social media too...all the necessities to let you know everyone is chomping at the bit to be recognized and voted into positions! Well this is no different in Missouri either!

First up Joanthan May returns to discuss peeing on people for no reason and then tells an amazing story of a dream he had! This leads to a discussion about Donald trump and his inabilities to pay his legal debts to the people he has wronged. This means Trump is not even HALF a Billionaire. He doesn't possess the liquid money to pay off the debts he has accrued and his own team is the one telling the judges.

Next the gents welcome Carolie Owens and Steven Blair who are running for Francis Howell School Board. Carolie is a veteran educator of over 30+ years who has worked for multiple school districts and has put in tenure to know the lay of the land. Steven is a pastor that is also an educator and they are trying to pull this conservative agenda out of the hands of the current board memebers, and right the ship. Carolie and Steven get detailed in their plight and why you need to vote for people with a grounded approach.

Finally, a surprise Tournament of Pop Culture. There are a ton of TV theme songs and we could easily (and might) do another 16 songs to battle it out. But this time around we have a random pull of TV theme songs and we are going to see which one reigns supreme by the end of the show!

The QNow - 593 - That Local Flavor

The QNow - 593 - That Local Flavor

On this episode of the show, Courtney Dowdall and Roy Kasten join the show to discuss the problems with local radio station KDHX in St. Louis.

First up Roy and Courtney sit in with Mark Bland and Jason Kull to discuss the problems that have been happening in St. Louis Community Radio Station KDHX 88.1. Since 2019 it seems things have not been going swimmingly at the station. Many VOLUNTEER DJ's and station members have been fired or left after dealing with the head of the station Kelly Wells and Board head Gary Pierson over decision being made on behalf the volunteers without their consent. Mark has his own story of merit that shows making bad decisions has been part of the station for years, but this new decision seems to be attacking the very fabric of what makes the station work and tick!

Next up Super tuesday 2024 came and went with a whimper. As expected, Trump continues to make other criminals who haven't done their crimes yet, feel good about themselves. Noted that Nikki Haley dropped out of the race after winning Vermont (which should be a red flag for Trump) but not before refusing to endorse him...and going as far as to label him a loser.

Finally, what are some of your bad habits that you think others notice? Well a study was done to tell us about some eating and food habits that turn others off a lot! Slurping your soup....eating off someone elses plate? Plus remember those old infomercials and the exercise equipment they were always hawking to everyone? Well there is a story that popped up and sent Mark and Jason down memory lane...come join them for the ride!

The QNow - 592 - The Bored Games

On this episode of the The QNow,  Jonathan May shows back up and we decide to break down everything going on in the world around us.

First of Donald Trump has been a very bad boy and has now had punishments handed down to him financially. Unfortunately Trump feels that he doesn't have to pay those and it said that he's only going to pay $100 million of the 400 plus million that he deserves to pay. The gentleman talk about Donald Trump and his current indictments.

Next up there's a crazy story coming out of Kansas City about a group of friends who had a football playoff party, then one of them decided to go to bed and the other three ended up dead in the freezing cold in their backyard. What killed the three men is still a question that everybody is discussing. Also how do you not notice your friends dead in your backyard for a couple of days? Mark, Jason and Jonathan break this down and discuss.

Finally we have another tournament of pop culture after we took a break. This week's tournament is the best board games ever! Did your favorite board game make the list? Did the one that you thought was going to move forward move  forward as you expected? All this and much more on the newest episode.

    The QNow - 590 - Cultured Gentlemen

Marcus Boston is back just in time for the finale of the Tournament of Pop Culture: Cops, robbers, Spies and Assassins bracket!

First up, Marcus comes back to let Mark and everyone know that he is definitely not dating any white women anymore. This comes on the heels of Mark asking Marcus about black culture and how they view black men dating or marrying white women. Mark noticed that many famous black men have white wives and he was curious as to how others view this in black culture.

Next, The KC Chiefs have become Super Bowl champions...but this didn't stop some people from committing a mass shooting at their parade. Mark, Jason and Marcus discuss the gun isssues in our society and how to fix these things. When shootings are happening at celebrations, you know the country is currently spiraling out of control.

Then its time to move onto the finale of the tournament of pop culture. The guys have 4 movies that are in the finale. After 64 movies went toe to toe for who stands tall, these men will figure out who reigns supreme.

Finally, When marcus comes on, Mark needs to figure out why he has so much trouble in the dating world. So Mark asks some Am I the A-Hole questions to both Jason and Marcus to figure out how they process some issues are having and maybe open up a path to figuring out Marcus once and for all.
