S4 17. Should You Date Someone Younger Than You?

S4 17. Should You Date Someone Younger Than You?

"Should You Date Men That Are Younger Than You?" That's the question I'm answering on this episode of the Thrive in Love After Podcast. Watch this episode on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/KGLewHWrSdI

    Key Takeaways from the episode:

Challenge conditioning: Question societal expectations influencing your dating choices.

There is no right or wrong: Understand there's no fixed rule for age in dating, just personal preferences.

Trust your instincts: Follow your heart when deciding to date someone younger.

Shared values matter: Ensure compatibility in life stages and values for a healthy relationship.

Your choice, your life: Don't be swayed by others' opinions; make decisions that feel right for you.

IMO, good and bad decisions don't exist!

S4 16. Is Playing The Cool Girl Sabotaging Your Relationships?

S4 16. Is Playing The Cool Girl Sabotaging Your Relationships?

Take my new assessment. here: https://thriveandmanifest.com/taketheassessment

Hello friend, it's great to be back after a short break. Today, I want to dive into a topic that's been on my mind for a while – Cool Girl Syndrome in dating and relationships.

I'm excited to talk about this because it's something I struggled with during my twenties and thirties, and I'm sure many of you can relate.

    Key Takeaways from the episode:

Cool Girl Syndrome (CGS) involves being overly accommodating in your interactions, going along with everything the other person wants.
It's driven by the fear of coming across as needy, desperate, or being rejected.
Engaging in CGS prevents authentic connections and makes it hard to assess compatibility.
The longer you stay in CGS, the more resentment builds because you abandon yourself.
Over time, CGS creates an unhealthy relationship dynamic where your partner thinks their behaviour is okay.
You block intimacy and genuine connections when you don't show your true self.
CGS leads to overthinking and overanalyzing situations.

    Action Steps:

Reflect on your past dating and relationship experiences to identify instances where CGS may have influenced your behaviour.
Write a story about what you'll do differently in the future to break free from CGS.
Ask yourself what feels light and authentic in situations rather than following norms or overthinking.
Get clear on your wants, boundaries, and true needs, and practice communicating them in various areas of your life.

    Conclusion:

I want to encourage you to be yourself and communicate honestly in your dating and relationships.
Remember, relationships involve two humans with insecurities and vulnerabilities.
Owning your side of the street and working through your fears can lead to personal growth and more fulfilling connections.

    Closing Notes:

Don't forget to check out the episode on YouTube:

I'd also like to remind all the amazing women over 40 that if you need guidance and support on your journey to a love life makeover, you can find more information in down below ⬇️

Lastly, consider taking our Relationship Awareness Quiz for personalized insights into your relationships.

Thanks for tuning in, and I'll catch you on the next episode. Bye for now!

Awesome

Fun, honest, and some how Sarah is able to curiously push her listeners to start asking questions about their intentions, self worth and draws from her own experiences. Love listening to her podcasts and have been able to apply to myself, my relationship/dating experiences.

Fun, Quirky, and so Helpful

Sarah Duff is the quirky, slightly chaotic, always helpful friend we all need. I’ve spent the last week binge-listening her and have come away learning more about myself than I intended.
She is incredibly personable in her approachable “chatty” podcast style, not to mention relatable and candid by discussing her personal stories (some of which are sad to hear but eye-opening and helpful to your own story).
I find her absolutely charming - she’s just a breath of fresh air at calling things how they are and that you are worthy of the life you want. Definitely worth a listen.
