I share my experience, strength and hope with you regarding my own recovery from alcoholism through the 12 Steps in Alcoholics Anonymous. By the grace of God I've remained sober since I was 18 years old (1989). I started drinking and using drugs very young. I got sober during a time when there were not a lot of young people in AA. Moreover, I was homeless. I got sober in the very same location I drank. I'm passionate about recovery, and about sharing my incredible experience with others in every way I can. I am sincerely happy, joyous, and free.

Episode #4 (Season 3) - "Dealing With Fear"
The Big Book says fear is a manifestation of self.
The Big Book says we outgrow fear.
The Big Book says our fears will fall from us.
The Big Book says we watch for (not dwell on) fear, and that, on a go forward basis, when fears crop up, we ask God to remove them at once.
In this episode I read some things from the Big Book, and I talk about my experience -
Episode #5 (Season 3) - "Dumbing it Down"
In this episode I talk about how simple I've learned to keep this: Is it selfish or not?
I also read from Emmet Fox about everything either stemming from fear or from love.
I believe these concepts to be wholly interchangeable. -

Life Changing
Stumbled upon this podcast a year ago and it has changed my life! So grateful for it. My understanding of the Big Books message was so twisted and garbled from what I heard in the fellowship. Clays understanding and application of the 12 steps are so clear and simple and all he does is “What the Big Book says”. I can’t say enough. Thank you!
For Better or For Worse
I 100% agree with the message here. There are two main themes of the Podcast, 1) AA meets have twisted the message and strayed away form the Big Book. This hurts and has potentially dire and dangerous consequences to the newcomer. 2) The host, member of AA (Not a spokesperson for), IS very compassionate and is an example of the solution given in the Big Book of AA. The solution, of which I have come to learn by listening to this show, is meeting Fear, frustration, and misery with Love, even if its just a little bit of Love, it is a start. Episodes 131 and 132 are really heart felt.
AWWWWWW YESS
Without the message that I learned from Clay’s podcast…aka SOLUTION-based recovery…I would be dead or at least dead inside. No joke. If you’re confused in recovery or you’re doing what you’re told and none of it is making sense I WAS YOU. There are so many instructions in AA and slogans that you cannot find in the Big Book, aka the book that started the biggest spiritual revolution in the past 2000 years. NO BIG DEAL. Clay brings the message back to the book and is the most compassionate person you will ever listen to. Clay understands how to communicate when there is work to do and that is ok to sit and be sad. Also, if you like Don Francisco’s coffee and Trader Joe’s french roast, you can pull up a chair and a cup with Clay any time. Recovery is about action. That is what I have learned and my life is incredible today because of the way that Clay simplifies the Big Book and a happily sober life. THANK YOU CLAY!
