Jeremy White and Sunny Weathers welcome Evan Rabalais for an overdue episode at El Rio Grande. Evan and Jeremy tell Sunny about the more interesting things that happened while rehearsing for and performing in the 67th annual Gridiron Show, including Gov. John Bel Edwards' awesome official response, which featured Coach Ed Orgeron and a slightly blue governor. They also chat about Wild Wild Country, the ridiculously compelling Netflix documentary about the Rajneeshpuram cult, but not before they touch on the BREC zoo losing its accreditation.
Episode 242: "Mardi Gras Fan Favorites"
Sunny Weathers and Jeremy White visit the home of Dorque Podcast in Knick Moore's Murder Shop for an episode featuring TRSP's original trio. Sunny and Jeremy recap how their float, as well as their erotic dancing, was a fan favorite at the Spanish Town Mardi Gras Parade. The three of them also share memories of their first New Orleans Carnival experience, some of which came later in life. Later, after a discussion about caffeine and other drugs, Jeremy shares a news item about Zen Master Steven Seagal becoming the brand ambassador for something called Bitcoiin2Gen.
Episode 241: "It's Stupid I Hate It"
It turns out the third time's the charm as Jeremy White and Sunny Weathers finally welcome comedian Josh Watts (aka "Northshore Kevin Smith") to El Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant for his inaugural appearance on the podcast. The guys express gratitude for not being part of the dating scene as Sunny and Josh slowly begin to realize they're soul mates with shared passions for action figures and old-school professional wrestling. The trio also compare show playlists. The episode wraps up after Jeremy poses a question about king cakes at certain workplaces.
Episode 240: "Why Baton Rouge Can't Have Nice Things"
After a football-season-long hiatus, Jeremy White and Sunny Weathers finally meet up again at El Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant to see if they remember how to do a show. After spending some time catching up and chatting about Mardi Gras, Jeremy offers a recent anecdotes to illustrate why the Capital City can't have nice things.
Episode 239: "Joel Osteen Is a Bitch"
Jeremy White and comedian Evan Rabalais welcome former mayoral candidate and occasional civic agitator Gordon Mese to El Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant for his first appearance on the show. The guys talk mostly about Hurricane Harvey and Joel Osteen but also manage to discuss the Mayweather-McGregor fight and a little local politics. They also deal with a libertarian heckler.
Episode 238: "Baton Rouge: Come Here for AIDS"
Patrick Mulhearn lists the myriad celebrity couples who broke up after coming through Baton Rouge. Jeremy White and Sunny Weathers opine why our city kills celebrity relationships. Other topics include hillbilly anti-vaxxers, Hulk Hogan's penis size, Terry Schiavo, virgin/whore sacrifices during solar eclipses, serial radio show callers, Nick chicks, a novel way for law firms to advertise their services, snowflake cops charging people with felonies for giving them the bird, and time-traveling Donald Trump.
I spent 20 hours over the last 2.5 days driving and this podcast kept me going and entertained. Thanks guys. I am now caught up. How do I get the first 19 episodes.
