Great pod

A fun podcast going over both the comics and Netflix show.

It was a cartoon…yet the cat did have a cat door

To me, Dream of a Thousand Cats, was a good cartoon. Cartoon. It’s a cartoon. I feel too much is being put on it. I don’t think the drowning kittens thing is out of date, but the story was written decades ago. I don’t doubt people kill kittens. There are a lot of cruel people out there. But my problem is that the purebred cat HAD a cat door. She could have moved her kittens and what owner of a purebred cat would have a cat door? Plus, if all these cats want to eat humans and be free…they all can get out of their houses. They are already free. So that’s confusing. But I did like it. The kitten voice didn’t bother me. I thought the bite at the end was the best part! What took you out of it engaged me! Calliope reminded me of John Carpenter’s Cigarette Burns, where a man captured an angel. My question is…are none of the other authors getting inspired when Calliope is captured for 60 years? Why are the Endless so slow in trying to help others? Again, confusion. I like your Podcast. I just a chance to watch The Sandman a week ago. I loved the comics when I was a teen/early 20s. I am looking forward to see what comparison and contrasts you observe in the comic vs tv show. I am currently listening to The Sound of Her Wings episode podcast and wanted to note there was a popular goth song called “The Sound” which mentions the sound of her wings, the touch of her breath…introducing Death…it came out in the 90s, so it could have influenced this. If the song inspired the comic or vice versa. I agree with the eyeliner though I feel the actress playing Death did a good job conveying but joy and sadness in her face in dealing with her errands.

Wow, just wow

You can tell the hosts do so much work and really know their stuff. The way they are able to bring in their perspectives is super interesting and adds a layer of depth to the Sandman legacy.
