Andrew Weiss – What You Need to Know About Life Insurance

Andrew Weiss – What You Need to Know About Life Insurance

There is a joke that Hell is being stuck in a room with a life insurance agent. But what if the agent is working for a saint? The Knights of Columbus has the unique privilege of being founded by Fr. Michael McGivney to care for Catholic families during times of dire need. Preparing for financial transitions through life insurance can be a daunting task but our guest Andrew Weiss, a Field Agent of the Knights of Columbus and Member of the Million Dollar Roundtable gives us solid foundation upon which to begin this process.

Dr. Joseph Cerbin, K.M., – Help Wanted: Knights and Good Samaritans Preferred

Dr. Joseph Cerbin, K.M., – Help Wanted: Knights and Good Samaritans Preferred

Like the Good Samaritan who brought his needy neighbor to an Innkeeper for further assistance, we too often bring our loved ones to others for help. Our guest Dr. Joseph Cerbin is a Family Practice Physician with the South Bend Clinic Granger Family Medicine Office, https://www.southbendclinic.com/location/granger-campus-family-medicine (https://www.southbendclinic.com/location/granger-campus-family-medicine). He is also a member of the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem, Rhodes and Malta https://orderofmaltaamerican.org (https://orderofmaltaamerican.org). The Order of Malta built the best hospital in the world during its time treating each patient as the Lord Jesus himself. Every new patient admission began with a visit to a priest for the sacraments of Confession and Holy Communion and then to a lawyer for a Last Will and Testament before beginning treatment with the doctors. Their code of honor required the best of them, and therefore their full attention to detail of the patient’s well-being. Our discussion includes the modern practice of using Advance Directives to provide authority and instructions for health care. For guidance in preparing these instructions, we turn to the recent document from the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith entitled: “Samaritanus Bonus – on the care of persons in the critical and terminal phases of life”. http://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/congregations/cfaith/documents/rc_con_cfaith_doc_20200714_samaritanus-bonus_en.html (http://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/congregations/cfaith/documents/rc_con_cfaith_doc_20200714_samaritanus-bonus_en.html)
