Remember those thrilling days of yesteryear, when D&D came in a single box? When rules were there to be guided by the Dungeon master, not in control of him? Where extrapolation was king and fun was the major goal of any adventure?
Those days have returned! As with the very title of the podcast, one can
imagine dangerous dungeons, Wiley Non-Player Characters, and monsters that
might just be able to kill your character regardless of your level? Save or
Die podcast intends to cover them all, from the first box set of 1974 to the
last of the 1990s box sets. If its Dungeons & Dragons and came in a box,
we’ll talk about it.
Our fearless Dungeon Masters will regale listeners with tales of past events and future possibilities. Magic, Monsters, and Mayhems will abound as we delve into the ideas of light rules and heavy
role-playing!

Awesome Podcast Red Box forever!!!

Love the podcast you guys are great. I’m glad I can find some good old fastRed Box podcasting. Need a couple episodes on companion box set and setting up pc domains. Just started a Basic game with my 7yr old twin girls, had to make a home-brew how to train your Dragon.

Great Show!

The new cast, with the rebirth of Expert edition as they are calling it has put some life into this show. Thanks James and crew!

Call me cramugin

I recently came across this podcast and have listened to most of the first 100 epsiodes. The provide very good information about the OSR and I have really enjoyed the many interviews with D&D Legends. I have to admit that for a lot of the early episodes I was put off by the constant hate and disrespect to all D&D produced after 1981, which incidentally was the year I was born. I was an early adopter to RPG thanks to my parents and brother and have been playing since I was 5. We started with 1st edition and stuck it out in 2nd edition until the release of the 5th edition. For a long time it was my opinion that too much hate was pushed to gamers of my era and age. I stuck it out because I enjoyed the views of Mike, Liz, and Glen and it paid off as the early host faded out. I am at around episode 115 and look forward to finally catching up. I am also very interested in listening to RFI and THAC0s hammer as I believe those will be more friendly to my interests and experiences. I kind of wished I would have started there!! Keep it up.
