LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE! Or maybe it's "Let's get ready to be HUMBLE!" 🤷😂
This week we talk about the Zoramites and their humility, how Alma's sermon on faith has some echoes of the creation story from Genesis (and even the temple!) and how we can worship God anytime, anywhere.

S2 E26 (July 6-12) “The Virtue of the Word of God”

This is the week of Korihor! We talk about some of the faults in his philosophy, how the armor of God helped Alma as he questioned him, and you get to hear MY FAVORITE scripture of the entire Book of Mormon!Articles quoted:

S2 E24 (June 22-28) “I Will Make an Instrument of Thee”

S2 E24 (June 22-28) “I Will Make an Instrument of Thee”

Speed warning! I was so excited about the stories this week (Ammon! Abish!) and I had SO MUCH I wanted to tell you, that I kind of become a motor mouth in this episode. If you need it to slow down, adjust the speed on your podcast player. Sorry! As I mentioned, we get to talk about Ammon and Abish this week! Two of my FAVORITE BofM characters EVER!!! We talk about the different ways that Ammon and Abish found to serve the Lord, how He was able to use them as instruments in His hand, and lessons we can apply to our own lives. Also, Ammon looks like Mattew McConaughey 😂😂😂

S2 E23 (June 15-21) “Enter into the Rest of the Lord”

Waterworks ahead! Sorry guys, I pretty much cry my way through this episode. The burning of the women and children in Ammonihah just destroyed me this week! We talk about that, what we can learn about Alma's partnership with Amulek, and how we can heal through Christ.  The song featured in this episode is One Day by Cochran & Co.

S2 E22 (June 8-14) "Jesus Christ Will Come to Redeem His People"

"God's work will not fail." With that simple statement, our Come Follow Me manual lays out the elemental truth of this week's lesson. Alma will encounter several who try to destroy his efforts, but we see how the Lord helps him and even gives him the tools he needs to succeed.  The song featured in this episode is "You Already Know" by J.J. Heller.

I listen every week

I study from Come Follow Me independently all week, and then listen for additional insights from Lexie on Sundays. She always gives something new and real to the table for me. It helps me put myself in the scriptures. I have no problem following along with her speedy talking. :) I especially loved the episode for June 15-21 about Alma and Almulek. It made their situation so real to me. I loved the format of that episode where she really delved into the story.

Tight like unto a dish ,

Change of Heart episode

This spoke right to my heart!! Your weaknesses are my same weaknesses! I loved hearing I’m not alone in my struggles even though I have a true and strong desire to truly have a change of heart. I also have a 15 year old son who I am similar to also and we butt heads so that was fun to hear. The best part was that I always have found it funny when they talk the people all speaking in one voice. It’s always made me think that it made it seem a little unreal that they would all just break out in the same verbiage like a practiced flash dance or something. The Harry Potter references will really catch my kids ears as they are huge fans so I can’t wait to have them listen. Thank you for your spirit and dedication to helping us all grow closer to our Savior.

Uplifting

I started listening to The Savior Said after hearing Lexie’s Latter-day Lives interview. There was just something about Lexie’s testimony and honesty that resonated with me. Of course I love her charming accent. But I also very much appreciate Lexie’s sharing her faith in Jesus Christ in such a raw, beautiful, vulnerable, imperfect, sweet way. Her insights and personal stories add fuel to my own fire of faith. What a blessing when people of faith speak candidly and publicly about their love of and faith in the Lord. I can’t imagine the sacrifices creating a weekly podcast of this nature might entail. But thank you for being a light in the darkness.
