Mineralized Soil with Sean Murphy | ScapeFu058

Mineralized Soil with Sean Murphy | ScapeFu058

Sean Murphy is the first to use mineralized soil in planted aquariums intentionally. Mineralized soil retains all of the beneficial nutrients but removes almost 100% of the organics that regular soil has. This minimizes the changes of algae while still providing your plants with the nutrition they need.

    Items mentioned:

Aaron Talbot's write up about Mineralized Soil and Sean's recipe at APC
    GWAPA site
    Dupla

Wow! Incredible podcast.

I am so thankful to have found this podcast. It really helped me answer some questions that I had about lighting. I was struggling to find information that did more than scratch the surface of the topic. I also was helped by the episode on the dry start method. I love that the podcasts take a scientific approach to subjects in a clear and understandable format. There is so much (sometimes too much) opinion based information out there about the hobby, that it is difficult for me to discern what methods are beneficial for me. It is nice to hear you share your experience, the practical reasons behind your methods, and also your review of alternate ideas on the subject. Wonderfully helpful!

Dry Start Method

Your Dry Start Method episode from 2015 may have saved me from disaster. I had too much water & too much humidity. Duh. "DRY start" right. Caught it early, I think we might survive. ;-) Thanks! Be well!

Excellent podcast

Thank you so much for all your hard work and sharing your knowledge. Without it I would have given up on my first CO2 planted, aquascaped aquarium... seriously!
