Ep. 54- A Case for Humanity- Interview: Bolaji Isiba

In this week's episode, Eric and Justin bring back a familiar voice and close friend on this weeks episode. Mr. Bolaji Isiba, who serves as the Director Bands at Lake Olympia Middle School in Fort Bend ISD, stops by to discuss and layout the foundation of what it means to be human for your students. Authenticity, vulnerability, transparency are usually words associated with what we do as music educators, which is where our guest picks up the pen. We dive deep into connecting with our community of young musicians in ways that may not be written in a score. MUST LISTEN for All Music Educators

I got to see Eric present at NAfME’s Eastern Division Conference a few weeks ago, and was blown away. Subscribed to the podcast, and man- I wish it had existed 5 years ago. I’m a white girl from New Hampshire teaching in very diverse Title 1 schools in Coastal Virginia. These guys are so helping to open my eyes and my heart, and they talk about things that hit so close to home. They rock. Listen!!

10/10 Would Recommend!!

This podcast is awesome!! I have enjoyed every episode that I have listened to! Eric and Justin are knowledgeable, caring and I love that they reach across the musical “isles” so to speak, to other directors.
