The Scott Whittle Show is the official podcast for Army veteran Scott (SW) Whittle. This podcast is about U.S. Veterans from all eras, non-profit organizations and government agencies who assist veterans, and real estate. Currently, it is focused on the local El Paso, Texas market.

U.S. Veterans

El Paso is home of Fort Bliss and it is considered a "military town". Fort Bliss is the largest industry in the area. As you can imagine there are many active duty and non-active duty veterans here. They span all branches of service, including the Coast Guard, and all eras all the way back to World War II. Here we will conduct interviews with them. This section could be sub-divided into three areas.

First, are the Veterans themselves. We need to preserve the stories of our Veterans. My focus is to interview WWII and Korean War Veterans as there are not many left.

Secondly, we have a large number of government and non-profit organizations providing various types of services to the Veterans and their families. These need to be recognized in some way.

Thirdly, are the people who provide assistance to our Veterans.  There are two groups here -- civilians and veterans. The veterans community in this category will featured by discussing their life stories and how they become employed by their respective organizations.

Non-Profits

Non-profit organizations are the chosen organizations for federal, state, and private funds to assist our communities. Unlike many states, cities, or towns El Paso has a large concentration of veteran's assistance programs. They will also be discussed here.

Real Estate

Finally, we will discuss real estate here in the El Paso community. This is not specifically geared toward Veterans but for anyone interested in this topic. I held an active Texas Real Estate license from 2017 -2020. Currently, I am working to reinstate the license. Due to this I cannot sell real estate but I can provide information. My goal is to create a resource for people from all walks of life.

    Introducing Patrick Cooley

I started my career journey as an Army officer where I learned leadership in roles that took me on adventures from Asia to Europe to the Middle East. I learned many valuable life lessons in courage, humility, and teamwork as I broadened my knowledge of the world and those in it. Post-Army roles have helped me learn about manufacturing, economics, and care of infrastructure. I have continued learning as an app developer using Power Apps and Power Automate to modernize and streamline legacy systems. I enjoy the challenge of working collaboratively with a global team to come up with solutions harnessing the power of automation.

honor where honor is due

The episode with Mrs. James was both inspiring and heart-felt. I come from a family line of service men and women, my grandfather, a Korean War Veteran. This episode touched me for many reasons not only as a veteran, and caregiver of a veteran, but as a grand-daughter who saw the system withhold benefits my grandfather was due that he was entitled to. We definitely have to do more for our veterans, even if it was their choice to enlist, they are still due much honor. Financial compensation may not make up for lost time, mental faculties, or bodily injuries, but at least it assists in families over all well being for physical needs. Great podcast!
