Show Summary: Based on the best-selling fantasy book series by Terry Brooks, "The Shannara Chronicles" follows heroes in the Four Lands as they embark on a quest to stop an evil Demon army from destroying the universe. Thousands of years after the fall of humankind, the world's fate rests on the shoulders of an unlikely trio: Elvin Princess Amberle, who dreams of a life outside of the palace walls; beautiful, wild and wily Human Rover Eretria, and half-elf Wil, who knows nothing of the great destiny that runs through his veins. Later, a mysterious woman named Mareth joins the fight.

A Magical Podcast
I love these gals and this podcast! Yes, they've admitted to not reading the books, but the panel is on the television series, which is altogether different. And, let's remember, it's an MTV show. There's almost an obligation to giggle over cute boys. You ladies rock! I love the breakdown of every episode and the theories you bring in. Kari, particularly, brings in a great viewpoint in regards to science fiction and fantasy. Keep it up, you guys!
An epic series epic podcast
The Chronicles of Shannara is an epic fantasy series and the podcast is a worthy companion to the show and even to the books. The reviewers clearly know where the books go and do a great job at not giving anything away. They explain enough about what is going on without getting ahead of the story.

Ugh
I've read literally every Shannara book since the first, and when the show came out I had mixed feelings about it - tv shows or movies are never as good as the books, or at least rarely. So, when I saw this on iTunes recently, figured I'd give it a listen before diving into the show and I just cringed.
1. It's clear that the hosts are not all that into the history - they "briefly skimmed" the books that originated the TV show which they admit readily.
2. After a very long intro and underlying musical score, it was disheartening to essentially hear a couple of girls getting what can only be described as gaga giggles over the dress that a character was wearing.
I have two nieces that are 13 and 14 this age and try to stay out of the room when they taqlk like this. Why would I voluntarily plug this into my earbuds?
As someone who's been on and run multiple podcasts myself (see Learning Digital Photography, Camera Dojo, and now Camera Question), you are not doing yourself any favors by keeping this format.
