Not much to say other than exceptional selection of world class tracks, minimal chatter, and intelligent commentary. The guys know their stuff and I can't wait for the newest installs. We need a New York visit.

House and Deep house was created in the DJ Booths of New York and Chicago in the early 80's. It came about when artists like Sylvester, Donna Summer, Prince, and Lionel Richie, the Village people, etc. would release a single and would ask the DJ's to play their records so that people who heard the music at the club and danced to it would want to go and buy it at the store. The idea was to associate all those fun memories with a need to buy it and be able to recreate that fun at home. Little known was what the DJ's did at the club would be to repeat parts of the song to make it last longer if the people were really responding to it. They did it byixing other music over it, overlapping them, bridging them together so that you never knew where one started and one ended. They woul extend accapella portions into 4 minute danceable breaks without words. Tricks like sprinkling in or "sampling" other songs in where they thought it sounded right, dropping or isolating instruments like the piano, drums, base lines, vocals was done unexpectedly and often. Acoustic enhancements would be used like phase shifts, echos, scratching, going from mono to stereo, and stopping a track just at the chorus line would drive people crazy. What made it so special was that even though each DJ had their own style, the song wss never precisely the same because the crowd's
